My motor ca18det is hesitating… The car is fine untill i drive it for a while. Then i get all kinds of bucking from the car untill i hit 3 thousand rpm or the turbo starts to spool. I was driving down yellowhead tonight and when im in 5 doing the speed limit im just under 3 thousand rpms, the car bucks hard. This all started happining last night. So i tightend all inter cooler pipes, checked and tightend down the sparkplugs. But it still is doing this. Any ideas?
might be fuel related ? change your fuel pump possibly … I would have suggested intercooler piping as I have had some weird issues coming back to a loose clamp somewhere
I changed my pump last year… I have a walbro pump in it…
I think you should tell your car you’re THE JUGGERNAUT BITCH!!!
I think your apex seals are blown Kris. :E
Hey, eat a dick :finga: . And yes, i am THE JUGGERNAUT BITCH
So this walbro pump the 255… Does anyone notice that this thing is loud as hell when it warms up? Is it of norm to be that loud?
When Kent rolled up to UC and backed his car up, we all though he was keeping a swarm of killer bees in his trunk…

He has a GTR pump that has been harwired.
Mine lets off a humm that is very noticable. Every aftermarket pump does.
have you checked your CAS and TPS lately? I had a similar problem, it was the TPS throwing wacky numbers to the ECU. Only happened on slight throttle (cruising).
filter was the case on one of my old 180s
I was experienceing the same problem, it turned out the timing needed to be advanced and its been fine ever since. Although yours does sound like more of a fuel related issue, either way, good luck.
well the problem went away… I have no idea what was the problem it just has not come back yet… I changed my gas station to shell from esso… I dont know if that had anything to do with it but im planning on buying a in line fuel pressure guage and replacing the fuel filter. Will let you guys know and thanks for the help…
sounds like a bad tank of gas (knock + timing retardation) which feels like hesitation.
Ok so this problem keeps on coming back now and then. I put an in line fuel guage and its reading 30psi is this the right pressure i should be getting out of a walbro 255 at idle…
Mine reads 40psi at idle, but there may be differences between SR and CA.
This is awesome i posted this same problem on nicoclub like a week ago and no one could help, now this. :E
Anyways i am having the same problem in my CA but it all started last week. I was driving along the motor starts to sputter/chug/hesitate, however, it does not drop revs and only at 2500-3000rpm.
First of all i had just rewired my detonation sensor, replaced plugs, and installed a manual boost controller, everything was still 55 even with an increase to 10psi. 2 days after the increase in boost this starts to happen, it also happens when im on or off the boost. While i suspect a possible fuel pump problem (fuel filter was replaced 8 months ago when i bought the car) i still think it could be the fuel pump. But if it was the fuel pump wouldn’t it be crapping out at full throttle only?
