driving today and all the sudden my fuel pump is making a constant high pitched whining noise. It’s a walbro 225. Anybody else have a noise like this or is my fuel punp gonna take a shit?
Walbro’s do that.
I mean this thing sounds like a chevy pickup(If you know what I’m talking about with loud GM pumps?)
Ive got a Walbro in my Mustang and it makes a loud humming noise
Yeah, they are rather loud
It’s wierd though that when I was driving before it was fine.Quiet, I couldn’t hear it at all. Only when I turned the key on it would cycle once. Now it’s constant while it is running. Wierd.
is your tank almost empty, mine gets a louder the less gas thats in it
It’s got a little less than half
I have a feeling you’re talking about a higher pitched noise. Walbro’s make noise, but nothing too loud. I wouldn’t be surprised if maybe the bushings in the motor are bad, causing it to make a squealing/squeaking noise.
That is probably the sound. The pump is only like three months old if that though. That sucks.
most walbros i have heard sound like the g/m pump …shit im about to do one in the marro 255 lph
thats whats in my shitbox. Probably more than I need but better to have more than not enough.
It’s just wierd that all the sudden it got really loud.
could of just “broken in” or suttin but most are loud …ya got a f/p gauge ?
My Walbro is loud but not while driving?
I think everyone is missing that he said it’s while he’s driving
Yea I’ve got one on the fuel rail.
The walbro I had in my S13 wasn’t much louder than stock, and I could hardly hear it when it was priming. Pretty quiet I thought.
The bushings are probably just making some chatter. Do you run the car low of fuel often?
just see what its doin ,if its fluxuating ya know whats up …
Buy a Denso.
this is nothing to be concerned about. they all do it.
