Was driving home last night around 9pm, doing 35 - 40mph, about half a mile from my house in East Greenbush. A deer lunged out of the woods from the right, directly in front of my car. There was no reaction time. Probably the scariest moment of my life. I feel awful for that stupid animal. It ran off, which is probably better than having to see it dead or dying, although it must be badly injured. No blood on the car, though.
Bye bye, fiberglass body kit:
Its head hit my hood:
Also nailed the fender:
And somehow there’s fur in my wheel? Ugh, gross.
Obviously it could’ve been much worse, but it was still pretty damn scary. I guess it was bound to happen eventually, living in a wooded area. I don’t think I want to drive at night for a while. Poor deer, poor car. Now if I could just get that sight and sound out of my head.
what the fuck do you mean poor deer? they are the god damned dumbest things on the planet. although, in this case, the deer appears to have done us, and you, a favor.
I used to see you around east greenbush all the time… I had the white/gold STi.
Your car was very nicely put together and it’s a real shame to see this
Be thankful you weren’t injured though!
I’ll be nice and not post picture of e36 + deer carnage, but if you guys know what I’m talking about/have seen it… disgusting. You’re saying poor deer now but I don’t think you want to see these if hair in the tire is grossing you out.
Trust me. The deer is fine. I have seen multiple occasions where deer has been in a bad situ and survived. One being I was following a friend of mine home one night, 50 MPH he slammed into a deer which flew about 15 feet in the air and then landed in some guys yard. The deer layed there for a second, got up and just walked away.
Secondly would be the time I shot a fucking dumn ass doe right in the neck with a 130 grain broadhead, blood everywhere, never found the fucking thing. A week later it walks by my treestand AGAIN, although this time it was even luckier because I had alreayd filled the tag.
