the show starts off normal, they kinda hear about the plane, go back to the show, then it gets serious, definitely a definitive broadcast from 9-11, howard did a great job, bringing in news feeeds from all over as it happened.
commercial free. 158 minutes long. as real as it gets.
i remember i was in class at ECC and one of my classmates got a call from his g/f telling him planes hit buildings. We all thought it was a joke until the school shut down
I worked for a car rental company and used to be able to go to the airport to get food on breaks. after that i coulden’t sneak beers anymore. Fucking terrorists.
I was in college in California at the time, so I was still sleeping. One of my housemates burst into my room and started yelling “we’re being bombed, we’re being bombed!” Seeing as how I was right across the bay from San Fran… it didn’t seem all that far fetched. Jumped out of bed and ran to the tv in the other room in time to see the second impact.
i remember walking to 3rd period, i was a senior is hs, and greg genco told me about it. that was some fucked up shit. then watching the 2nd plane hit during lifeskills. then watching the towers collapse. ugnfdiug
I remember the principal at my school saying something to the effect something happened, and go back to class and don’t turn the TVs/radios on. Didn’t find out until afterwards during last period when this our social studies teacher said this is silly, you want history, well it’s happening right now.
I was in NYC on August 26th 2001 over my birthday.
We walked right by the twin towers, i had never seen them before.
I remember it vividly, people laying on the concrete in front of the building trying to take pictures of the top of it, and get a view of the top.
There was a few security guys walking around outside the building, they were smiling and talking to people. I remember asking one of them for instructions somewhere.
I heard this live. I was sitting in my living room listening before I went to work. I had a portable radio with me the whole day listening to news stations as I worked.
Have radio broadcast on tape. Have complete (never unfolded) buffalo news from 9/10, 9/11 and 9/12 and 9/11 of 2002, (<–had a whole special section dedicated to 9/11). Theyre neatly sitting in my closet wrapped in a paper bag. Just reading the headlines still gives me chills.
