I sent my wheels to Hot Shots a little over 2 weeks ago to get soda blasted and powdercoated a special powder that they had to order. So they tell me they ordered it and it was $70 for 5 lbs. Then he calls me a today a little over a week later telling me they didn’t ship the powder out and that it was $250 not $70. So I’m thinking to myself how it went from $70 to $250. So is it really going to be worth it to just do the powdercoat or take it somewhere else to get done or just get it painted. I’m just a little upset and need some of your opinions on what i should do. Just two motorcycle wheels. Looking for a copperish(sp?) gold.
Bail. Go get your wheels back.
Thats shitty for a shop to do
Just paint them.
:word:
Just spray em tim, we were actually talking about this last night, easier and cheaper to spray. If you want I could help you with them
Paint*
get them back from that broke ass shop and paint them.
Let me ask a question… possibly a stupid question.
Could you have them anodized gold? Wouldn’t that look better anyways?
EDIT: Also, yeah don’t go through that shop.
orange > gold.
+1 for paint.
.
I think I may do my wheels silver or white this year, if you want then we can just pick a day and do em both
That orange is still pretty hot if you chose to leave it.
That really sucks that the price changed like that. Ask if there is something similar they can use that isn’t so expensive. I’m sure they/you can find some cheaper powder.
If not, just spray. I personally like the piece of mind that powdercoat will hold up to a bit more. But considering it’s a bike, not getting exposed to harsh elements, you can get away with either.
yeah he can look at my powdercoated exhaust tips while i’m in front of him :fry:
You SOB. I’m coming for you next season. lol.
please keep me informed as i am looking to get some stuff powdercoated… i too would like to know of some shops
That would be different and hold up real well.
But I think wheels are too big for most anodizing setups, hopefully I am wrong…
doooo iiiiittt
hopefully with an adidas hoodie
you can peep my carbon fiber pipes when i’m ahead of you.
