i want a gun

I have a Marlin .22, a .223 carbine and a .308… the .22 is still the best to refresh all the shooting skills. I’d start with a .22 Marlin or Ruger then go from there. If you don’t you are going to spend 1000-1500 or more on a gun and then have to buy expensive ammo, not a good plan.

Not true. The gun KuntryQuestsi just sold would have been perfect and MUCH cheaper than that. A Remington 770
Decent .223 and 5.56 is really cheap right now … AK (7.62 X 39) is also super cheap to shoot.

my .243 sold to a friend with money for $300 ammo prices ranged from $17 - 40 a box It came pre mounted with a scope as well. Freek almost got it for $250

wow when did used shotguns become so cheap? I’m going to stock up for the zombies.

Buffalo Gun Center on harlem near the 33 has a Russian Mosin Nagant 91/30 rifle mfg in 1943 with bayonet and cartridge belt for $159. I was just there the other day. As much as i hate dealing with the douchebags in that place, its a pretty decent deal.

A No.4 Enfield would also be a good shooter and can be had cheap

Best deal going on WW2 surplus is one of the Russian capture K98 German mausers that you can pick up for $300-350. LOVE LOVE LOVE mausers

If you want anything American WW1 or WW2 plan on spending big $

I have an old enfield and a mosin as well. I enjoy the enfield more, the mosin is sporterized (not my style) but still fun.

Guns with history to them are great imo.

Russian Capture German K98k’s

pick one

talk about a rifle with history!

You’ll get one then you’ll get another…and another lol.

Get a mosin nagant. It will be more instant gratification then a 10/22.

Take a peak at Saiga as well.

Holy crap, i didn’t realize the ruger 10/22 is that expensive now… I got mine brand new from dicks, with a 4x scope for $110. But that was 8 or 9 years ago haha… It still is a great rifle, but definitely not that gratifying. On the other hand, I feel that every person who has any interest in firearms at all should own a ruger 10/22.

now that i think about it… it was probably more like 10-11 years ago that I bought the 10/22. lol getting old sucks

this. so cheap to shoot

i just dont get my kicks off on a .22 anymore… i need a big boom… but as far as .22’s go i love mine. I have a Winchester 62A mfg in 1940, old school 15 shot pump action, hold the trigger down and it will shoot as fast as you can pump. jnJ lost a bet that he could shoot his 10/22 faster

Yeah .22s are cheap to shoot and are effing great for killin’ zombies but for fun you might as well shoot a bb gun IMO. Definitely get a 10/22…after you get something bigger

Jam come shooting with me. See if you like it, and what you like…

Or get a GSG5 (look it up you lazy fuck), I got one and it’s super fun to shoot, and it’s a .22. It looks pretty badass too.

^See my post number 10.

Oh yeah, lol, I didn’t even see that. Yeah, they are sweet!

Not to be a dick, but the gsg5 is like driving a Ferrari with a 1.8l 4cyl to be economical. It looks cool, but it overall pretty lame. If you’re going to get a .22, get a 10/22 and make it as accurate as shit…

I think you should look at an sks. They’re super cheap, cheap to shoot, about as reliable as a gun can get, pretty decent size round and are pretty accurate. You can pick up a nice Chinese sks for
$350 and buy 1000rds of ammo for another $300. Real cheap, real fun, can’t possibly break it and if you never clean it it’s cool. You can learn the basics of shooting and gun ownership…

My sks belonged to my best friend, and after he passed away, it became my first gun, and remains one of the most fun guns I have.

In fact, I Know of a norinco sks-m para for sale like new. It’s a little more money, but takes ak47 magazines which are cheaper, and, assuming you take good care of it, will go up in value, as it’s a pretty rare gun

Also, FYI, the sks is the predecessor to the ak-47, so it’s pretty old timey. Like I said before, you should come shooting with me. I can let you shoot a few different things, so you can see what you like. I’ll set you up with my sks, I think it’s exactly what you’re looking for (minus the bolt action part.) You can shoot some handguns too if you want.

I love my gsg-5 so cheap to customize, so easy to take apart and clean ect. you can’t give a first time driver a Ferrari and tell him to drive through winter.
Its a toy, wtf are you going to shoot at it?
how far? you want a bench gun? you want to shoot trap? sporting clays is fun as hell

It’s just weak to buy something that’s pretending to be something it’s not. Like the .22 ak47 they sell. That’s super lame!

On second thought, you need a belt fed machine gun

Where do you guys go shooting?

I have yet to see a GSG5 run 100% out of the box. They all seem to have problems. ATI does make some good stuff, but imo the GSG5 is a not worth it at all. If I wanted a “tacticool” .22 I would S&W M&P1522, much more accurate and we have never seen a problem with one.

Or just go with a 10/22 or rem 597.
