if it was timing from the start it would have run like crap since the day u picke dit up…sounds like an alternator took a dump on u…alternators are wierd…they can whine…giggle…rattle…or just die…u could still have power with a dead alt…just means ur battery still have a lil juice left…i think if it was ur timing belt the car would have just stopped and not started again…and Blktt is right…beatign and drivign hard is different…you’ll get her running soon dont worry
It’s def. not the oil pump. They almost never go. And depending on how the pump died, the car would still run. This happened to someone recently, but his Z has 1000whp…
Sounds like the alternator to me. And if that’s the case, it’s a quick, easy fix. I swapped out the alternator in my Z at night, in a hotel parking lot in no time at all. :tup:
Is your battery still charged?
:tdown: All cars should have voltmeters on the dash, IMO. I wish mine did. I’ve thought that ever since I went to go for a ride in my buddie’s caprice. He started the thing, everything seemed fine, then he pointed at the dash and went “shit.” I asked him what was wrong and he pointed out his voltmeter was reading 12V, not 14.4 with the car running. Therefore, dead alt.

wasnt this that horrible NA car with the huge wing and stripes with nitrous and was capable of going the speed of sound or something?
just tell him not to do any work…you might have to pay for diagnostic if he already looked at it but you will save on labor. let me know if you need a hand

i have an NA alternator in good working condition…or at least last time it was in the car it was in good working condition, along with everything else that is attached to an NA engine…and the service shop manual…how about this, buy it off of me, and save yourself the labor in doing it yourself, i would let you use the manual…maybe even supervise a bit…
well onyx said hes gonna do it for a mad cheap price so all i need is the parts…if this is the problem…looked under the hood and the main big belt…guessing its for the alternater is hanging off shredded up and the pully is mad loose and wobbly…
oh and to top off the fact that the tow truck came a day later than he was supposed to he crushed the front bumper in the process cause the car is too low…and he took it from the front like a jackass…i made him stop and take it from the back …but i cant wait to find out he did some nice damage to the front when he lets it off the truck :tup: and hes asking me all these questions on what he should do…im standing there jaw dropped saying…ur the fuckin tow truck guy…figure it out and get it there in 1 piece
