normally i would say new pilot bushin and throwout bearing…thats up to oyu since they are new anyway…i mean they are like what 45 bux together…but get a formal diagnosis before comminting to anything…
does it slip all the time or only after driving hard for a while…or just after driving normal for a while
im at work…i drove for 10 mins from there to here…if u accelerate slow, u wouldnt know…if u step on the gas, the revs go up…he told me to come over after work so he can check it out…is the commute ok if i just take it real easy?
yea it will be ok for a lil bit… i drove my 89 escort gt for like 3 months with a bad clutch then i could barely drive it cause it was slipping so bad…just gotta take it easy
Lol, same thing happened to me inthe maximamama after I got a new clutch. On the way home some guy in an RX8 wanted to go, this was when they first came out, I couldnt resist. The clutch was funky for a little, but straightened itself out. Just drive it normal and itll be fine. And for future reference, thats how you know a clutch is going bad, the car will rev up in gear…
“The clutch was funky for a little, but straightened itself out.” ok…so vq…maximase…and jack…and newman…im taking it there for him to check out or whatever…but should I TRY to continue the break in process and see if it gets any better?? or is it not possible
even if its already slipping orwhatever its doing? its not too late to “drive it like a grandma” for a 1000 miles and then it will be fine? i mean they will replace whatever for free but im trying to avoiding going back there
had the car back for 2-3 days, driving it like a granny still for this stupid bullshit clutch break-in gayness…getting off the thruway onto millersport (same exit where my clutch stuck to the floor and pissed out fluid) and i hit a little tiny pothole and blew out my sidewall  to never getting to use the only enjoyment in my life
if you dont like it that much, why not get an auto and that way you dont have to sound like a baby? we all have to break in new clutches…its part of owning a manual car, deal with it…quit crying that you have to baby it…
and i’m kinda amazed that 222hp could fry a clutch that quick…but it can…
and as to newman saying you shouldnt pound on it at all…that kinda upsets me, because when we first took my car for a test driev, we were near red-lining every gear and hit over 100 on the first run lol…maybe it makes a difference because i dont have a stock clutch…
so who are you going to have do the clutch job now?
im not whining bout the clutch break in, im dealing with it for another 700 miles, i simply posted some bad luck = blowing out my f00kin sidewall on my tire
stock wheels yes…would love to get 2 tires today and osmeone who wants to help me mount the bitches on cause its been 4 weeks in a row i couldnt go to BAO…finally get the fucker back and i blow out the tire on a pothole…will pay for troubles along with obvious tire price
Just to shed a little light on this situation, This was one of those once in a while jobs that problems seemed to crop up at every step and nothing seemed to go right. I personally did not work on kyle’s car other than for about an hour to finish up after his rear main was installed and to fix a speedo wiring oversight. I am not there every day, but I am familiar with what happened. Mistakes were made, It was unfortunate, and I wish it would not have happened to you, kyle, but I hope that you came away with the realization that the owners tried to make it right.
