especially if you are a full time student. A company won’t take a risk on someone that might not show up due to a final or something. Best bet is to go the campus work study route, and flip burgers or do the Kaufman’s thing until you graduate. Or, if you are going to school full time, just borrow enough money to cover your boarding at the apartment also. You end up paying for it after you graduate, but it still ends up being cheaper than living on campus.

What about a paid internship? That way they’ll definitely work around your school schedule and places like US Steel pay up to $14 an hour

What about waiting tables or bartending–do you have any experience? Depending upon where you work and how good you are, you can make really good money in three/four shifts/week?

ouch! I shouldn’t have suggested stuff without knowing the full story. Sounds like work-study might be a good option, if she can get something in her field of study.

retail is not hiring right now… in general. plus the last time i applied places was 3 motnsh ago… and they all still have my application and resume and i have given them an updated resume and they have flat out told me they werent hiring yet. I’ve done the hamburger thing. I’m not too proud to do it again… but they just aren’t willing to pay what i need. I’m willing to do almost anything… but they truth is that most places are not hiring right now because the business is down due to the holiday rush they had a month ago… the mall is out… everyone in there has my resume and application. Most of McKnight is out. Including McDonalds, Wendys, and Eat N Park. I’ve applied up and down Squirrel Hill, Rt 19, and Rt 8.

I will not strip. I might have gone to the Dirty… but I’m not from the Dirty.

I’m running out of ideas.

2. I have been marketed… I have interviewd… I have been offered jobs in exchange for my school schedule being changed. Which if I do I will nto graduate for another semester… therefore taking 3.5 years to get a 2 year degree.

thats why night school is better if your pressed for cash…i work a full time better than average paying job during the day and go to school at night. its gonna end up taking me 5 years instead of 4 to get my degree, but thats mostly cause i effed up my first year of college.
