ew? I could understand saying ew when I worked in nursing homes, I changed diapers and bathed people all day. This is actually a good job though. They have some pediatric clients with behavior problems. You are basically babysitting with those cases. Even the case Im on, it’s like babysitting an oversized kid. You cook, clean, go grocery shopping, give showers, and take the person to the bathroom. I guess I’m not grossed out easily, but it doesn’t bother me. My client can be frustrating because of his brain injury though. He has the mental capacity of a three year old. Doesn’t talk, just makes strange noises. Smacks, hits, pinches, slaps, etc. If you can handle that, it’s a good job.

when you start college at 17 or 18, you usually have a completely different work ethic, set of goals, and ability to prioritize than you do by 21 or 22. People fuck up their first semester. Many people fuck up their first few semesters.

It took me 4.5 years to obtain my assoc. from CCAC, I had deaths in the family, got in a car accident, things that pulled me off the path of furthering my education.
Back finishing up an engineering Degree.
My last year I did some introspection of my self and realized, this is reality, and even though those things tested my ability to progress through, I did, I worked 3 jobs, not paying worth a shit, but I did it.
I graudated from Mtlebanon High, with high Honors, and had a part scholarship to Pitt, But I couldn’t pay the rest , in normal living standards, so I chose CCAC.
My father is a multi-millionare in the student housing industry,(not even certified let alone a degree) and I have seen not 1 cent for the betterment of my future. Not even a Job. I dont ask for this nor expect it.
Realize that you create your future, it just doesn’t happen. I applied and applied for programmer jobs, networking jobs, operations, Sales, it sucks but keep going.
I now work for a temp making still no where near what I am qualified for but take it in stride.
Also I think that ppl, who have made it, great job and happy with what they do need to be a little more supportive in helping the ppl fighting to get it done and not just throwing in the towel.
