Just got the alert on my phone. Freezing rain advisory for 2am to 11pm Thursday. Said up to 1/3 inch of freezing rain. That’s enough for major power outage issues if it happens.

VALLEY WESTWARD ACROSS THE NIAGARA FRONTIER.

And here I was ready to take my snows off last night.
Have an appointment to have my snows taken off tomorrow at 5:30, but driving to the Aderondaks on Friday and dont want to chew them up… wwwhhhaaattt dooooo iiiii ddoooooooo :_(
I better not see one salt truck out. Its going to break my heart!! lol All this nice heavy rain has been doing nothing but benefiting for us with washing salt away.
The ice storm in 1998 up near the Quebec border that I got stuck in dropped 80-100mm of ice.
For you metric challenged… that’s 3.9" of ice. It was so thick I could drive my 4x4 on top of the crust it created over the snow without ever cracking it or going through.
Here’s what happens to a high tension power transmission tower when you drop 3+" of ice on it.
I’m pretty sure that will be the most insane weather event I will ever experience first hand in my entire life. It put the Oct storm to shame.
