If You Had To Choose One?

 NO! GTO’S ARE ONLY FROM THE 60’s! ANYTHING CALLED THAT AFTER IS A RIP OFF! AND IT’S FROM AUSTRALIA FOR CHRIST’S SAKE! Plus, hot cars must have 4-bangers and have hp numbers starting in one.

So the Cobalt weighs 350 pounds less than the Hyundai, makes 50 horse and 40 ft-lbs more out of the box, and is known to be a capable platform, yet you guys are still humping the Korean tin can because it’s rear wheel drive?

Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t pay $20k+ for either car, but if someone put a gun to my head and told me to buy one of them I’d go with the Cobalt.

It’s a GM. 100k mile warranty be damned, it is going to explode 3 blocks off the dealer lot.

Yeah and JD Powers says that a Hyundai is as nice as a Honda. :cjerk:

lol, i would never call an element “hot” i also would never call a new gto hot…

ricky loves rolling boxes too (old as audis)

Cobalt. Traction issues, sure. But put one of their “mail order tunes”, a good clutch and a downpipe on one and its easily a mid-12second capable car.

Took out a friends TC against my roomates “stg3+” s4 that put down 440awhp, and the cobalt was right there with it till 120 or so. I was genuinely impressed.

genesis, rwd period

Are they really about the same price? I thought the hy. was over 30k?
OP: I can get ya a GM discount on the SS if ya buy a new one.

meh, genesis is kind of cool…

both are ugly, so pick the RWD ugly car.

Yeah id take the Genesis.

Cobalts sound brly with open cutouts, i raced my friend who has one

honestly, for the same price you can get a 2011 mustang v6.

-305 hp
-6 speed
-30mpg highway
-RWD

it’s a no brainer to me.

genesis all day! ive driven a V6 one a bunch of times(ripped it a little as well) and it was damn impressive. plus the interior is much nicer than a cobalt as well.

and its actually a really nice car to drive.

id rather have the genesis over the mustang too. i think the genesis looks better.

thats true but its weird

take that stang, take even the prveious v8 models

all 300hp

ss cobalt T/C 260 horse

gensis v6 300hp

350z 300hp

mazda speed 3/6 260 hp

caliber srt4 285 hp

fuck just keep listing them

2003-05 srt4 neon 215-230 hp FWD

better than them all in the quarter and 0-60, proven and tested, fuck the cobalt, caliber, genesis can barely break into the 14s and cant break 6 seconds for 0-60

not that im tellin the OP to get an srt4, but i always wondered how that little car blew the doors off everything with more power, RWDs, and so on

back to the topic

How much does an srt4 weigh?

Not enough for me to feel safe in one.

edit:

edmunds says 2900lbs. I don’t believe it.

yeah it is 2900lbs its a fat motherfucker

shit the neon guys put that powerplant and tranny in their first gens, my 95 was 2390 without me in it

I’d have to agree with this. I have heard that the genesis does handle pretty well but its a bigger and heavier car that also only has a 2 liter engine with 60 less hp stock. Are we talking track or r package at least? The cobalt is pretty impressive. GM really nailed the chassis dynamics on the TC.
