I have a house on the water near Fisher’s landing. I am usually up there most of the summer. 81 is usually loaded with cops. When I was a cop I would set my cruise at 95mph. I never got pulled over on the thruway; even after I passed cops and did not slow down. I only got pulled over on 81. The surprising thing is that in three years of going 95mph up there almost ever week during the summer, I only got pulled over twice.
FYI if a cop tells you to help by law you have to.

I have in that past ,and will again if need be. Having friends that are cops is a major factor. But ultimately they are just people with a family doing their job.

A cop on the side of the road with a flat tire needing help yes. A cop out of gas and needs a pus, yes. A cop asking you to hold a flashlight, yes.
A cop in the midst of a shootout and just took one in the leg and wants me to run in the middle of gun fire and drag him to safety… NO, that’s why he is a cop and I am an IT guy. I keep my ass away from gun fire.
