I have an S13 and am experiencing an annoying ‘chime’ noise. The ‘chime’ you would normally hear when the door is open with the key in the ignition. This noise is occurs when I drive over bumps, etc. Anyone experienced this problem? My key is pretty worn, so I’m thinking of getting a new one made at nissan. If that doesn’t work I’ll buy a new ignition cylinder. Approx cost of a new key at Nissan? Ignition Cylinder?

or you can disconnect the white plug near the fuse box to get rid of the chime.
but then you leave your lights on and you get a dead battery

Or, locate the doorjamb switches…test them and replace as nessacary
The key I had for my 240sx was very small (im not sure if they’re all like that) so I got copies made at a Canadian Tire, the kid never even charged me for it. 
You should try that instead of paying Nissan a few bucks more than you have to.

im sure there are people with a whole colum u can switch up on here. i have done it. the only pain in the ass part is the 2 nuts coming off the steering colum under the car. but shit all that just for a chime?
