ignition products

i was wondering if ignition upgrades are worth it and what ones are worth it. Plus do they make a good difference. thanks

for what engine?

yes

it would be for a ka24e

They will make the bigges differice on high horse power motors, but not the much on a stock motor, maybe a few more horse power.

No, you pair this with tuning of spark advance tables, thats how you make power gains. Not being high horse power or low horse power.

Andrew.

For an old car, i’d freshen up the ignition system.

Plugs, wires are a good idea, especially around the winter months.

I wouldn’t go overboard with a stock KA engine though. Just something cheap and better than stock.

get ngk iridium ix spark plugs, msd ignition coil, thick wires, new distributor cap and rotor, and clean up all grounds and terminals under the hood, than go and get your ignition timing tuned, you should definately feel it run smoother, combine that with an oil change, engine vac, intake/tb clean, and new air filter, you should definately feel improvement

Don’t waste money on the KA unless you plan to turbo it or use another motor.

i think if you enjoy your engine, its good to keep it running at optimum performance, hence its not a ‘waste’ to put money into your ka and its not a ‘waste’ if its not an sr, if you drive hard and your ka is good enough for you, than its a good idea to keep it running top notch, this is just my opinion cause i have a ka and i dont mind tuning it a bit
