I'm Trying To Blame New Era Performance For Blowing Up My Tranny...

In this case…i agree.

yes, i 2nd that

never has it been so apparent to me why don from hybrid goes on 5 minute rants about why he won’t touch tuning on a car he didn’t build.

Nah, that’s why Hybrids works on imports. That way you don’t have to worry about big HP/TQ breaking transmissions. Kidding… kidding…

Almost 600 whp and a stock trans with 40k that gets raced all the time. Can’t believe something let go. Maybe he skunked it, but it sounds a lot more likely that it was just time for a trans rebuild and he was the unlucky one behind the wheel when it let go. Your racing season was probably over after your next run anyway because it would have let go then.

+1

did you really sign up JUST to post this? threads like this never lead to any good anyways…

lol @ noobs.

FYI if u want a stock tranny to hold up to +300 more whp than originally intended, buy a B or K series honda

5XX isn’t that much HP for a stock T56…not to mention I read the kids posts and he is running Fuzion Zri tires so he obviously isn’t hooking.

pay 2 play, stick around next time if you’re going to be this anal about broken shit.

did you sign a waiver? GG

Should have taken it to J&J. :hitit:

so wait, he said that the reason why it was missing in part throttle was cuz there was an extra passenger in the car???

uhhhh…

waiver is pretty key at this point - if there is, which I assume there will be, it makes little to no difference who’s fault it is

also, if you had triple A and u heard grinding, why did u continue driving on it all the way home instead of just pulling over it and towing it either back to new era or to your house/mechanic’s garage?

From reading the rest of the posts on ls1tech, the kid can’t keep a story straight, so who knows what Mike actually said. I do know he is damn good at LS1 tuning, so I’m sure there was a good reason for the tune not being right. It sounds like the kid brought in a half working heap of shit and expected miracles.

OT but

is an amazing pic

edit for brent:

word, most likely. stupid noobs haha

I heard this car got a new motor not too long ago??

Was there a new tune to go along with it? Or was this supposed to be the new tune?

it was missing at part throttle and he says that it was because I was in the car with him and that he normally goes by himself

that would suggest he either drives different when the customer is not there or has no clue what hes doing. Since Mike seems to know how to tune he probably runs cars pretty hard on street tunes which is understandable to an extent to see whats going on.

150-300lbs (unless the original poster is mad fat, no offense) shouldn’t make a difference in the tune. if its missing and hesitating, its the tune, or something is wrong/broken ( reservation Gas?, dead plugs, etc)

The cars are not run hard expecially when the street tuning is idle and part throttle tuning (coming to a stop at lights, acceleration from a stop etc.) The few guys that have experience with Hp tuners on this site know that when you are logging and save the logs, everything is saved, including RPM, MPH etc. All files from the car have been saved and we have proof that the car was never even floored or even above 45 mph. Your tranny was on its way out, you race every week with a car that makes a lot of power for a stock tranny, and now that its toasted, you want to point the finger at the last person who tried to help you out. We stand behind our work and if there was any dought that it was our fault, we could talk about…but when you call the shop and insist that Mike broke it…yelling at him and telling him “you broke it mike, you broke it” there is no way either side can have a conversation anymore. As soon as the problem was noticed, Mike called you. When you picked it up, you said nothing of it, and then a week later you called and said Mike broke it.

Before this gets all sorts of twisted, the weight has nothing to do with the tune. The first time Mike and Mondi went on the road for street tuning, Mondi was with him and basically asked him what was going on with each click of the mouse. This can become very annoying as you may imgaine, and it was distracting to Mike as he was trying to do basic things to the car.
