Am I the only person that thinks pledging allegiance to the flag, or even to the country itself if you’re into that philosophical abstract garbage which implies that the flag symbolizes the country, is pretty useless anyway?
In my heart of hearts I think we should just abolish the pledge all together.
people kill for alot of reasons… drugs, money, cars, lust, ect…
life goes on
btw, I can only think of ONE religion that condones killing. Not to rule out the crusades (then again, back then… alot of stupid shit would get you killed)
“Under God” should definitely be taken out of the pledge. Schooling should teach children about facts, not make believe. If the parents want to teach children religion at home, have a blast with that. There is so much diversity in our schools nowadays that it would be inappropriate to make someone go against their beliefs by saying “under God” whether the majority believes in it or not.
no, because the rational people of the world do not believe in any superior being. Other than jessica alba. (for you humpers out there)
GOD was never supposed to be in schools/gov yet it is clearly in both, and jammed down everyone’s throats.
BTW - The analogies… about stuff killing stuff… can you think of any “natural” cause that killed/kills more people than the holy wars of the past? Kings were brought to you from god, as were pharohs… WTF is that sheit?>
well, the crusades was estimated at 9 million deaths.
The total number of deaths due to the crusades had been estimated at around nine million, at least half of which were Christians. [1] Many of these were simply innocent civilians caught in the carnage.
that’s all of them combined as well.
while
The Chinese famine of 1959–61 resulted in the deaths of up to 30 million
I didn’t mean natural in the fact that it came from nature… naturally…
And I didn’t specify the crusades… any sort of organized killing over something holy. Like the The Holy land … where people are currently being killed.
everyone that has ever died has died from the same goddamned cause: lack of oxygen to the brain.
God is a belief, and beliefs are relative. wether you have some beliefs or none at all, accept the fact that other people may have different ones. How fucking hard is that?
Honestly, does everyone here truly believe that the US gov’t doesnt do a happy little jig around the invisible yet omniscient man in the sky? Cause, if You honestly believe that they don’t I’ve got a hurricane to sell You.
