Well, it’s a good motor, no doubt, but you have to benchmark it somehow. If it makes similar power to a 4g63 and has worse track numbers, I don’t know what to say
I guess I have to lump the chassis in with the engine to make it a true judgment, or else you could go with almost any modern engine.
there are plenty of them out there, but thats like me saying i dont see 10 second street dsm’s… i dont look for them and im not interested in them so how would i see it? do ya get what im saying? if your not looking for something you wont see it
The GM quad-4 J/K I know that these had potential but GM bean counters ruined it like they ruin everything GM makes.
I have owned the legendary VW ALH TDI and now own a K20Z3. It’s hard to choose which is better because they are so different and have really different tasks. I really like the fact that my Honda has timing chains that require nearly no maintenance. It also doesn’t require expensive synthetic oil. On the other hand, the TDI is cheap on fuel, and it responds well to minor mods.
If we are talking about longevity I’m going to go with the Mercedes OM616
Best Stock motors F/I - LSJ Super and turbo charged. For a mini I would choose a LSJ S/C Just because of the cost/performance ratio. Combined with a tranny designed for road racing and a beefy power band this motor is a winner in my book.
