Ingram Micro People?

?

I worked there for 10 years. 1998-2008. I’m not fond of them for several reasons.
That said…it’s not a bad stepping stone and it looks good on a resume. If I could do it over again I’d only have stuck there for 2-4 years and then bailed so I could have learned a bit yet left on my own terms…but hindsight is for dreamers.

thanks for the input guys keep it coming

Market Dev for Toshiba. Certified cube jockey.

There are some good things, some bad. The eye candy is nice, and there are nice perks from time to time… but as always it can be a bit tedious sitting in cube dealing with corporate BS.

In all I can’t complain. It pays the bills and it certainly looks good on the resume. Better than not having a job.

Sounds like a “bitch” level position. Be ready to do “bitch level” work.

I did a little more than 2 years in market dev for verizon there. It’s amazing how many $30kmillionaires are there…

Yeah, Ingram offered me 45K+bonus to take a sales job working California hours and then got all sorts of mad at me when I told them no.
I came away imagining this:

The aptitude test is a bunch of what would you do in this situation questions. Mostly it is common sense if you are not retarded. There is some math, but they give you calculator so again if you are not retarded you should have no problem. I think that I finished their 2 hour test in about 20 minutes… They asked if I was sure I didn’t need more time. I was not overly impressed at the operations but I do believe that they are a good company just to overly structured for the likes of me.

You could also check out one of their local competitors Azerty, my sister in law makes a killing there.

So true.

x2 for the resume builder. you probably will get bitched around but Ingram Micro is very popular in this area so it will look good on a resume.

yea, its a solid company to work for in the area, and its fairly laid back. I had a good time there and left on good terms.

loll

this place sounds like a company called sutherland in rochester.

They have a nice cafeteria and odd conference room names…

I love post #32 and the response in post #33.

I make all of my career decisions based on the quality of the tuna.

I started here a few months ago as well. I’ve seen the NYspeed stickers more than a few times when walking through the parking lots so I figured I wasn’t the only one here.

I’m back here as well. Lucked out with a window desk.
