Didn’t they charge you an arm for the labor?
Seamus works there now.
(ToguethisDB1?!?)
They did good work on My car. They changed the Clutch Slave Cylinder.
and they replaced Jake’s (slackj94) Clutch and flywheel, and his car was perfectly fine.
They ALL know their shit.
So does Sean the kid with the blue 91 integra…
the gas mileage could be due to unhooking tha battery and reseting the ecu, so i wouldnt be too worried about that, the ecu will relearn
his is black… im pretty sure
yea, Seamus(tougethisdb1) is there now. Others are Dave, Bob and Sean. I dont remember their names on the forum tho.
From talking to them, I think they’re very knowledgeable about cars.
I didnt think it was bad. I wont give a number, but i’ll say this much: most shops wouldnt even do my car. even ones that specialize in exhausts. some quoted me over 2000 dollars in labor alone. One other shop quited me more for just doing piggy pipes, thats just punching out my precats and using OEM piping, for the ones that dont know audi terminology. its basically removing that mesh from the collectors and reinstalling the pipes back on.
I havent seen anyone else there, but he could be new. is he on the forums?
i dont think bob or dave are on here.
sean is 91b16teg or somethin
Bob doesnt spend much time here. Maybe 5 minutes a month. Dave occasionally reads, but doesnt post much. Sean hasnt posted lately, but he somestimes looks.
I went in there today and I was pretty civil about the problems with my car and they pretty much acted like they had no idea how the scratches got there and that there were a lack of fasteners in my bottom plastics to begin with (which if that was true then they would have been hanging down before I brought it there). They were kind of like what do you except us to do repaint the whole car. Then I pretty much got real pissed and they ended up telling me to come back tomorrow so I drove down to Maaco on chrysler to grab a quick estimate and brought it back to them. I brought over it to Seamus, or whatever his name is, he replied you’re really going to have it fixed there and I told him that it didn’t really matter where it got fixed because they should be the ones paying for it. Then, Bob took the estimate and said he was gonna report it to their insurance company. Dave called me back when I was on my way home and told me that Maaco could squeeze me on Monday but I honestly don’t have the time for that because starting monday I have to go to work in toga monday-friday so I don’t know what to do because I obviously just can’t catch a ride from schdy to toga. I just wish they’d give me 300 and call it a day but it doesn’t seem like they’re down for that.
Pretty lame story
Ah. Labor for my 6SPEED clutch swap is $500. I will bet my car is probably a bit harder to work on then an A4.
The fact that they hired Seamus seals the deal.
Maaco? Get a real estimate man. It’s not your problem they damaged it. It’s the cost of doing business.
I just went there to the first place I saw (Maaco) because I pretty pissed at the time and I really didn’t understand how coming back the next day was gonna help at. That just sounded like lets take some time to come up with more bullshit and that they didn’t want to take the blame for something that they had caused.
They might think otherwise when you bring them to small claims court.
Take pictures of said damage and go from there.
in line performance has done work on my car and it came out perfect. a 3" exhaust on a beetle is not easy + custom down pipe . i have seen alot of there work and its A+++ work . shit happens once in a while im positive hes not a cobber. his price is alot better than synapes . at inline performance theres not interns learning on your car that dont know much like there is at synapes . im not dissing synapes but i know dave and bob are awsome guys . if i didnt do most of my own work inline would be the only people tuching my car.
its a 6, Shawn, you silly DSM boys dont know ur 6’s from 4’s LOL j/k. its actually a PITA of a car. i was there when Dave was doing it. too much stuff in wat of pretty much everything other than lug bolts. its all crammed together in a tight space, just like ur 3Kgt.
what do u mean “hiring Seamus seals the deal”?
I meant A6 but I am not an A6 expert but replacing a clutch on a 2G 3S is a PITB. I heard he paid like 900 in labor. That’s ridiculous. What’s the book on that job?
Seamus has about as much right working on cars as I have being an olympic 400M sprinter.
Just to clear up your confusion there is no interns at Synapse. This is between inline and the EcityEP3, please don’t post incorrect things about other shops.
shrug he seems to know what hes doing. he was one of the ppl helping me with my brakes.
post pics of the scratches. Are they deep enough they hit metal or are they just on the surface?
