I’ve had this LC-1 for over a year now. Originally, I was using a gauge for daily driving to make sure my AFR wasn’t out of wack. I finally got around to installing Logworks v3 over Logworks v1 along with the revised firmware 1.10. Since then I have not been able to get the wideband or the gauge to work properly.
Before the update to Logworks v3 and firmware 1.10, I was never able to use logworks, but the gauge running off the analog worked just fine. I’ve currently been using the DynoTune gauge with the sweeping led. It’s primitive but it’s served it’s purpose well. This has been the gauge I’ve been using:
Now with the new version of Logworks and the firmware, the gauge will not read at all. It will calibrate fine, but will stay on the far right of the gauge, past the 15.8 AFR mark.
I’ve attempted to setup, and reprogram the LC-1 many time’s with no success. On my first attempt to program the LC-1, I left everything stock for the both the AFR and Lamda. In Logworks, the gauge will freak out going rapidly between 7-22AFR. I know the car idles at 12.5 from getting it dynotuned, but both the software will not show anything, as well as the DynoTune gauge. Here are some pictures from the LC-1 program software to show you what I’m talking about:
I’ve gone over the wiring numerous times, but per DynoTune and the Innovative Manual. I currently have the DynoTune gauge running off analog 1. I’m lost at what happened, or what I can do to fix it. Please help!
sure the sensor is not dead? a year is asking a lot from a Bosch sensor used daily. hell, i was able to kill a brand new Bosch sensor in less than 1 hour of use last week. started a car up, let it warm up w/ the sensor on, did three pulls and it went dead-- would flip between actual a/f to 20-1, on and off. new sensor in it solved the problem.
probably your sensor. mine does the same thing when it goes bad. it will sweep from rich to lean rapidly. im on my fourth sensor in a year and a half. you can pick up one at advance i cant remember the part number but the application is a 2000something 1.8 turbo jetta
Dead sensor for sure, I have an LM-1 setup if you need a sensor to use quickly. You can buy then straight from Innovate, at like 60 bucks IIRC. I’ll be curious to see how Logworks and your tuning software mesh…my Logworks trails slightly behind NeptuneRTP while logging in real time, in terms of reaction time (I’m well aware that Bosch O2 sensors aren’t the fastest responding). I’d rather be running a pyrometer in each runner for more precise data.
Thanks for the replies. I’m pretty sure the sensor is dead. It is around two years old. The car isn’t a daily driver, but I’ve never had any issues with it before. I ordered a new sensor. Hopefully that will fix the issue.
thats the sensor you need. order it by either number at advance. i have it wrote on the back of a business card i taped to my old lm1 so im not always hunting for the number. i’d advise you do the same, as these sensors shit the bed pretty quickly.
I talked to Innovative tech support. They said with every firmware upgrade you need to do a free air calibration. I’m going to try that today, but also pick up a new sensor.
When I installed Logworks3 I also had the same problem, I did the free air and heater calibration and the sensor appears to be working correctly. I try to keep a few sensors laying around just to verify the functionality of the LC-1 (which I have had to send back to Innovate quite a few times). I like the Innovate but they appear to be pretty fragile. I bought a Motec and will be converting the dyno to use that instead.
