ok, i’m finally wanting to fix my cruise control. is there anything that normally goes bad on these car’s cruise systems? here’s what happend. i was using the cruise coming back from school, stopped to get gas. when i was done pumping, i got back on the highway and got up to speed, went to activate the cruise and nothing happened. hasnt worked since! any ideas? i have a haynes manual but the descriptions kinda suck for diagnosing
usually the box over the tower goes bad, not sure what internally happens though
you know anyway to check for sure? the button still lights up on the dash, so i know that one is still good. i also heard that maybe the brake light switch could cause it too
if the brake light switch is at fault, look under the dash and see if it engages/disengages as it should
if the buttons bad, i have one. let me know
any chance this could be something as simple as a blown fuse?
I have a box if you want to try that

i checked for a fuse, that wasnt it. i think im gonna wait til the weather breaks before i start switching out parts to see what works and what doesn;t. i changed my mind about workin in the snow haha
There is a sensor on the Clutch. it coule be as simple as your clutch not coming back and completly pressing the button in.
bumping this back up because i just realized i didn’t check the correct fuse. thats what i get for checking fuses in the dark i guess. the repair manual says check the fuse under the dash as well as under the hood. am i blind, or is there no specific fuse labeled for the cruise system?
oh and the clutch seems to be fully coming back on the button, kinda hard to tell upsidedown and crammed under the dash, but it seems to be
