yeah recently i notice that my cruise control doesn’t work. The botton that you press on to the left on the steering wheel lights up but the cruise light that’s on the dash doesn’t. The bottons on the steering wheel dones’t work either. Could it be a fuse problem?
Don’t assume I’m calling you a dumbass because I’m not. But at what speed are you trying to use the cruise control? Because it only works at speeds more then 40 or 50 kph.
Could be fuse for sure. Check wherever they are, I think it’s the driver-side kick panel.
Check the cruise’s throttle cable under the hood and make sure it’s tight & healthy.
Of course these are just the basics…something could be pooched.
Good luck.
I just had the same problem.
The FSM lists a set of steps to go through to figure out which component has failed.
Since your light turns on it means the relay works so you’ve passed step one. Next step is to check and see if the clutch switch / brake switch are working properly.
How to do that:
- For the brakes, first check that your brake lights work normally.
- Then, look by the brake pedal. You’ll see there are two switches. One is for the brake lights the other is the A.S.C.D cut switch. They both need to work for the cruise control to work. Since the brake lights show if that switch is busted test the other one. The switch should be closed (aka should show 0ohms of resistance between the two terminals) when the brake pedal is not being touched.
- The switch by the clutch should also show 0 ohms when it’s not being touched.
That’s where my problem was (step 2 woohoo!) If that doesn’t fix it let us know i’ll tell you step 3.
