thanks again guys. the car is staying red. for wheels i would like volk gt-7 not sure yet. suspension there is tanabie struts with apex spings on the car now, would like possibly tein ss or some coil over set up not sure yet.stock sway bars for now. this is a pic of the car last summer. oh and the old wign is for sale.

ahah i used to change the oil on that car, dont know what owner you are, but the guy who i met was the guy who did the swap and apparently he had spray on it…talked with him many times. he was an older dude maybe early 30’s…nice guy. probably one of the first SR’s in ontario.

soory man but you must not have looked under the hood. when i bought the car it still had ka in it, did have spray. i did the swap two years ago i bought the car three summers ago from a guy in toronto.

As in body panels & engine swap? It’s been done before, and it can be legal.
Or as in cutting the front clip off a s14 off and replacing it with a s15 front clip.

it’s perfectly legal. It’s still a 240 in the eyes of the insurance people, it’s just been modified.

ya you could do a complete s15 front end conversion but the s15 engine swap is a waste of alot of money and time to me. ya bas but i bet i got myn cheaper.

yea the reason why I asked is because ,I mostly see folks doing the fender swap from s13 or s14 to s15 but they never put the S15 engine in, i thought it was illegal, Is the SR20DETT Illegal? I remember seeing a some S15’s come stock with a twin turbo, or am I remembering wrong?

the sr20 NEVER came TT, there are people that have twin turboed their sr, but they never came that way from factory.
the reason you sont see many S15 sr20’s is mainly because of the price, they are alot more expensive then the S13 or S14 sr’s, require more custom work to make fit and come with a weak 6-speed tranny that dosnt hold up to well at high hp. they do come with 27 more hp but the the extra money and work needed is not worth it when you can gain that much with some bolt-ons.
here are some pics fresh off the truck, its been a busy day. for any of you that are fermiliar with the shop you know about the blue hatch. it is finaly in the paint shop, hoping it will be done for thurs.

thats debatable, by the end of the summer Ontario will have the same standards as the rest of the country, and because japanese headlights are iki and not ece or DOT they are “illegal”
if you ever try to sell the car with the headlights on it under the new inspection rules that are comming into place you will be foreced to replace the headlights with DOT approved unit.
Manitoba, BC and i belive alberta have already adopted this policy on saftey checks.
if you want to keep your car bone stock thats up to you, by the way check the stock tire size on the inside of your door, dose the tires on your car match that size, if not your car technacly would not pass safety.
