so like, the rod hit the sleeve? is the clearance that tight there? it only spun #1 rod bearing and left the bearings paper thin…
yup
yup x2,check the specs of ur bearings(stock) and u will see how tight it is
wow cool
guess its better then finding a zip tie in your cylinder like sleepergtp did :kekegay: (and it still ran like a dream!)
st165 engine :kekegay:
your rod bolts are probably stretched seeing that the bearing was burnt out giving the rod more travel to trash your cylinder.
blown b18b > turbo celica that breaks all the time
I’m not terribly worried about it. I did rev the piss out of it on a bum tune, so i get what I deserve. I spec’d the whole motor and had the bearing clearances w/in .0003" of eachother. I just didn’t know that the thinkness of the bearing was greater than the distance b/w the rod and the bottom of the cylinder!!

- bolt stretching
…i pulled the rods out and some of the rod bolts just dropped out of the rod castings :eek3:
i’ve seen that on two that i have taken apart also… ARP makes a rod bolt for them now if you want to give that a shot.
I kinda want a B20 bottom end with some flat tops so i can run this on boost.
