It begins every morning, five days a week when the USPS drops off anywhere from 150,000 to 175,000 returned DVDs.

By afternoon, thousands of DVDs will be sent to subscribers. Employees in their red t-shirts sit at small stations. They work with precise movements – their hands seem to have memorized the routine: grab a DVD, slide into mailer, fold, rip, seal and set aside.

Next, the envelopes are stamped, then it’s off to the postal sorter. This machine can spit out 17,000 envelopes an hour.

^^ thats 4.7 every second

One dude here at work accounts for a bunch of those…

i get them too

I just joined a few weeks ago. I was thinking about this very thing the other day. They have a retarded amount of postal volume. I wonder what kind of rate they pay for postage. There is a lot of shit that your $15 pays for. Dvds, employee (stuffers), postage, envelopes, warehouse space, website, advertising, etc.

papercuts like whoa!

bandaides…add that to the list

thats gotta be a shitty job

Netflix is now the world’s largest online DVD rental service with over 4 million subscribers.

4 million x $15 = 60,000,000 million…not too bad

shitty job…(most in the movie were not american, so they work for cheap:gotme:
