I’m new and was recently told to check out the site after running into a friend sitting in his driveway doing some body work;)
My recent disappointment may develop into a positive outcome, or not, you never know with cars:ohnoes
I just have to say, I love my FD. I’m a little disappointed that the stock rebuilt twins didn’t make it through the break-in but I should be satisfied with the GT35R kit that should arrive by the weekend. I was really looking forward to being able to experience the car fully built with a simplified sequential twin turbo set up. Oh well I guess, the GT35R will spool plenty fast with the 6 exhaust strokes per one revolution of the eccentric shaft on my aggressive street ported motor.
Well, if or when I’m back up and running you’ll see me in my stock looking silver RX7:D
Let me know what you think. Like I said, the rear turbo on the twins blew a seal so it’s apart again. I didn’t want to take a chance or wait very long so I just ordered GT35R single turbo kit. Contrary to what people with piston cars believe, in the world of rotary this is a small turbo. I hope to have it back up and running by the end of next weekend.
Oh, I bought this car bone stock while I was still in Iraq and my brother picked it up for me. I got kinda screwed over on it. If you can believe it the guy lied to me while I was working everything out from overseas, douche bag for real. So everything you see was done by my brother. We hope to have it all back together to so we can keep our dyno appointment with Morgan.
Just so you know, there’s no such thing as ‘simplified sequential twin turbo’ setup on these cars. By going to a single turbo, you’re eliminating have the problems that can occur, mainly related to the vacuum lines and potential boost leaks.
Good luck with it, and enjoy the car… I’ve always had a weak spot for FD’s.
Car looks real clean. I always see a silver one with a front mount n rotterdam parked in some driveway with spearco stenciled on the intercooler.Thought it was yours till I just saw the pics
Simp seq refers to simplifying the system from stock form, so yes there is simp seq for these cars. Going non-seq or single just simplifies the turbo system further but the cars looses one aspect of it’s originality and uniqueness. I had planned on keeping with these aspects of the car due to my appreciation of the engineering of this cars original form.
And yes Brian is pretty much my brother-in-law. Did we ever meet?
We have met before. I don’t know if you remeber me though. Matt Stallmer. Ive had more honda’s then i can count on both hands. Mint red eg hatch, turbo b16. and my previous car was turbocharged gsr in my grey 95 coupe. Im sure you have seen my old hatch, i was over Bri’s house quite a few times (not so much recently tho).
Car looks great man! i can’t wait to see her all done!
