Ok so does anyone here use an Ipod touch? I’m looking to put some games and fun apps on mine but I don’t want to pay for them. Has anyone done anything like this?
I wouldn’t mind getting some Top Gear on it. I currently have a ton of music on it and that is all.

I just got an ipod touch for christmas.
What does the jailbreak do? I installed a bunch of free apps from the apple store including skype.
I just ordered a mic for it to make phone calls.
jailbreaking allows you to download all apps for free
I need some info on this as well…Do they have 3G? How is the internet accessible? Is it basically an iPhone minus the phone? Camera?
Love the iPod touch, haven’t jailbroken it yet but I keep hearing about it. Might check into that this weekend.
best advice read through the Iphone thread. its all the same for the jailbreking. just no phone or camera

Yes, the skype app is free. Ebay has a bunch of 4 dollar microphones that plug into the headphone jack of an ipod touch.
You can make skype calls, i’m sure there are other voip providers with apps as well.
No they are not 3g, they connect to internet wifi hotspots.
I just use mine at home or hotels.
Pretty much the same as iphone 3g minus the camera and phone.
so it functions as a regular phone then? does someone else have to have the app for u to call them?
naw you can call land lines from skype.
ok i downloaded blackra1n and have 3.1.2 loaded on my ipod touch. I have it linked to the comp via the usb. I close itunes and all associated i programs and ran blackra1n. The ipod shows the usb going to itunes and that is it. Blackra1n says entering recovery. What am I doing wrong?
are u using the proper 3.1.2 for the itouch and not one for the iphone 2g,3g,3gs. that will put the jailbreak in limp mode

is skype free? I should do this to mine since I have no cell reception at my house.
Skype is free.
Skype will call Skype for free.
Skype will call land lines (or mobile numbers or whatever else you want) for money. It is not free to call real phones.
