is my eclipse totalled or not??

pics?

while even though AWD would be nice…i chose to buy a GST because that’s what i wanted and it took me a year to find the one i have(had). it was in awesome condition and it is going to be really really hard to find another one like that :frowning:

Wow sorry to hear this…not sure how much it matters, but a friend of mine does not have airbags in her car (it originally came with them though). I believe it is a salvage car though, so the regulations are diff. Anywho, them be Canadian rules, so I dont know how much of a help it is.

Hope everything works out for you! :frowning: Most importantly, you’re ok. That would have sucked really bad given we havent hung out that much this summer.

It’ll never be the same. Take it from meeeeeee :frowning: If they total it let the fishy swwwwwim.

Sorry to hear your crash! ; ; from the sound of it, it is probably totalled… Good chance to upgrade to AWD !

I guess I will know for sure if the car is totalled on monday and if i am going to keep it or not

find out if you can buy it back, ill take dibs on it depends on how bad it really is.

there is no engine damage or frame damage…the most expensive thing to fix is the airbags…all it needs besides that is a windshield, one head light, and the hood is bent and the bumper is all scratched and beat up. i’m really hoping to keep it but if it has a salvaged title…i don’t think the bank will let me keep it since i still owe money on it…

I do recall looking for GSX’s first…we just couldn’t find one.

Sorry to hear about the car yo, it’ll all work out one way or another. In the end, its just a car, but at least you’re ok.

i dont beleive the bank has any real say in the deal … the 2 things i know the bank can say is “keep full coverage on it” and “we get the check if its totaled”

but at the same time, if you decide to fix the car … even if it is officialy totaled, you get to hang onto the check because insurance is ment to either

a)fix the car
b)cover your losses

and option A gets first proirity

if your fixing it yourself, feel free to find your airbags on ebay, or talk to JustinH , i know he sells used airbags from his engine supplier in AZ

Also, if the INS CO says its totaled, talk to them and find out what the dollar amount is that its totaled by … sometimes they just write cars like this :

value : 10K
known damage: 6K
expected supplimental : 2K

woopps … thats 8K … more then 75% of value … totaled

in that case, you just have to talk them out of 500 dollars and the cars not totaled anymore …

but that only works if your ins company will work with you

that sucks

sorry to hear about the accident :(…glad to hear that you are ok. i hope that everything works out for you
