glad to hear your ok…i had an old lady pull out in front of me when i was drivin my frends freshly painted 87 iroc…100% her fault but still…old people defintly should have to retake there road tests again at like the age of 60 or sumthin…but it sounds like ur car is totalled if the frame is bent
Oh shit! I believe it will be totalled. Glad you are OK though! Let me know what happens to it…
wow, thats crazy! from the descriptions about the car in this thread looks like its gonna be totaled…
we need some pictures
thanks everyone…I haven’t heard back yet about my car…they say it takes 2-3 business days…but it was 100% the old guy’s fault so i don’t have to go through my insurance. the only bad thing about my car being totalled(besides that i love my car) is that i still owe like 6k on it…i doubt the insurance company will even give me that and i don’t have gap insurance so i’m pretty much screwed cause i will have to pay the remaining and start all over with nothing the guy at the collision shop doesn’t think the frame is bent from looking at it and the sunroof was loose anyways so maybe it just came up a bit when i came to a crashing stop?? when i actually get a chance to see the car again i will try and get some pictures! thanks again for all your concerns
I’m glad you’re okay stairs. Sorry to hear.
On the other hand… i can’t believe people are willing to give up such a huge safety feature to save a few bucks. You’re okay right stairs? Do you think you would have been okay if your bags didn’t deploy? The accident with Sue on the 33 last weekend was very lucky she wasn’t seriously hurt, or even worse… killed. Ask her if she’s thankful for airbags.
yeah, it’s a “chance you take”… but why bother? God forbid if i get in an accident on the thruway and hit somebody head on or a bridge or whatever. I hope all 6 of my airbags deploy… if i walk away i’d rather drop the money on airbags then have my head pushed through a windshield/steering wheel.
Maybe i’m different, but when i chose my car, safety was a major consideration for me.
on another note…if my steering wheel airbag deploys…it’s only $400 for the bag/unit, with no “reset” fees. I’d think BMW’s prices would be higher compared to the others…what gives?
your jeep, believe it or not, is a “grey” area because the accidents you’re vehicle is designed around are roll overs and off-roading accidents. They arent’ designed to be speed demons. Hence, ABS and airbags aren’t targeted areas of safety on bare bones jeeps.
Glad your OK
:word: to fucking that
i cant believe you would opt to not get airbags redone, regardless of the price
they just saved your life
yeah i’m fine Josh…i think airbags are important but they actually are the only thing that hurt me in this accident. I have burns and bruises and scratches from them and my head still hit the steering wheel before they went off…i guess it depends on what happens in each individual accident.
besides the burns… you got beat up worse at my slip-n-slide party. (There you were only going 5mph )
sorry to hear bout the aksident…
Airbags = expensive,
If your frame is bent in any way shape or form… my guess is they will total it…
A friend of mine bent his frame, hood, and one fender in his truck… and it was an expensive repair. even when he did most of the work himself w/ used parts.
hun, unless the ins. co. finds used parts i think it will def. be a total, im soooo sorry to hear the bad news
if they total it, take the money they gave u and bring it to my shop and i might be able to get u back in the car
thanks Tom…any ideas/help is greatly appreciated I would hate to lose my car!
Honestly, why would you keep the GST when now you might have the opportunity to get a GSX or maybe even an EVO?
I concur… don’t make an emotional decision because you “loved” your car.
make sure you buy the car back, and part it out. you’ll make a lot of money back.
Some is really proud of their post. ^^^
X…
