Yea… but an S13 has poopy weight distribution… I dunno… I guess it’s cause I have nothing against the rotary, and the power gains from an SR20 would be well… nonexistant?

I have nothing against RX-7s…well actually I do. I don’t like them
because their motors are shit (you guys have admitted that).
The body styling is good though. Personal opinion. Flame on.
As an amateur/hobbyist, the only thing that matters to me is: power, suspension, braking

I’m on the other side completely, I think the rotary engine is a beautiful piece of engineering, but think that the FC is not a pretty car by any stretch of the imagination.
As to the weight balance thingy… well… it’s given to you by factory. Some guy at Mazda said: Hey, let’s give this car a perfect 50/50 weight balance!
Meanwhile someone at Nissan said: Uhmm… so yea, put the engine… eenie meenie miny… MO!
I understand if you’re not willing to cut your firewall to relocate your motor to achieve 50/50 on your S13, cause quite frankly, I don’t know anyone that is. But if you already HAVE the 50/50 given to you… why mess it up?
No I didn’t. I merely tried to give both sides of the arguement and a positive standpoint, instead of my biased opinion. I love rotaries, I think they’re incredible, but I’m willing to admit that it – like any other engine – has its flaws, simple as that. The fact remains they’re far more capable of making power than an SR, CA, even RB25 (talking about the 13B-RE specifically), and they weigh a lot less and offer a better distribution of weight (front-mid-engine anyone?) in doing it. If you want to talk about HUGE power though, just look at what a simple, comparatively small 2.0L 3-rotor (same displacement as the SR20DET… actually a little less) can do… in excess of 1200hp all day long!
No, don’t get me wrong, I think rotaries are amazing. But then what the hell do I know, I’m just gonna blow an apex seal.
