Is there any point to saving money (collecting)

Wasn’t really trying to collect it, just figured it might be worth saving. I’ve got a;
Hundred from 1981 in perfect shape,
a 50 from 1990 in perfect shape,
a 20 from 1995 in good shape,
2 $2 bills from 1995 in ok shape,
one $2 bill from 2003 in perfect shape (i didnt even know they made em still)
and two fives with the red ink stamp. one from 1953 kinda beat witha rip in in, and one from 1963 thats just crumpled up

i just thought the old money looked cool and was getting rare when the new bills came out so I held on to one of each

should I just spend it?

eh, if it was me i would spend it lol. but thats cause $186 is alot for me lol, its more than my average paycheck

from what i recall, paper money isn’t really worth saving. i had a 5 from 1934, and a ton of old silver dollars and my babysitter spent it on a fucking pizza. I told my mom and she didn’t believe me until after the girl was gone.

You still have a babysitter. I hope she’s atleast hot. Did beck hook u up?

should’ve raped the bitch

hahaha ^

hahaha.

Only only currency that will be worth anything meaningful would be old coins, such as silver dollars, half dollars, quarters or true copper pennies.

for the most part, its the money that has minting defects thats really worth any decent amount more to a collector. most old money really isnt worth much more than face value.

In another thread I pointed out that pre 1983 pennies (copper) are worth .022 each.
You can get rich if you can collect millions of them.:stuck_out_tongue:

they are worth what someone will buy them for… if you don’t have a buyer then why save them… unless its something that you want to keep and admire

What about all these fucking Saqajawea ( sp. ) dollar coins the vending machine at my work always spits out?

i hate these freaking things, but if they will be worth more than a dollar someday, ill just keep them in a sock,

and if the day comes when i need to, i’ll beat the shit out of the guy with a sock full of quarters.

:bloated:

Sorry to say but you better off putting them in the bank in a savings account or buy bonds. Its a buyers market.

That true??

F cash, credit is king nowadays

HSBC online savings account = 5.05%

wheatbacks!

you would be better off using that money to buy the state quarters. Some of the early ones are already up to like 35-40cents

No,spend that shit.

If they were like un-circulated and 100+ years old you’d have something.

Here is what you hold on to.

Anytime you find someone to give me $.35-.40 for these I’ll split a nice chunk of change w/ you.I used to sell them for upwards of $.55 each.I could make more sorting $.25 boxes then $20 an hr at gm.All that is dryed up now and they are pretty much worth face now.I’ve been saving them since 00 so You can imagine how many I have.At least $2,000 face of Del. and PA’s.Give me $.30 ea and they are yours.
