Wasn’t really trying to collect it, just figured it might be worth saving. I’ve got a;
Hundred from 1981 in perfect shape,
a 50 from 1990 in perfect shape,
a 20 from 1995 in good shape,
2 $2 bills from 1995 in ok shape,
one $2 bill from 2003 in perfect shape (i didnt even know they made em still)
and two fives with the red ink stamp. one from 1953 kinda beat witha rip in in, and one from 1963 thats just crumpled up
i just thought the old money looked cool and was getting rare when the new bills came out so I held on to one of each
from what i recall, paper money isn’t really worth saving. i had a 5 from 1934, and a ton of old silver dollars and my babysitter spent it on a fucking pizza. I told my mom and she didn’t believe me until after the girl was gone.
for the most part, its the money that has minting defects thats really worth any decent amount more to a collector. most old money really isnt worth much more than face value.
Anytime you find someone to give me $.35-.40 for these I’ll split a nice chunk of change w/ you.I used to sell them for upwards of $.55 each.I could make more sorting $.25 boxes then $20 an hr at gm.All that is dryed up now and they are pretty much worth face now.I’ve been saving them since 00 so You can imagine how many I have.At least $2,000 face of Del. and PA’s.Give me $.30 ea and they are yours.
