the 2+2 z is not the “performance model” in question. so while your at it how about all the NON ss variants from gm? that makes it even worse for them then!
brand recognition has always been won by the japanese and a few euros (germans).

Nice post on the STI
you mean like a 4300lb impala with a small six, like they came in the early sixties, you miss the point that the base cars, many with small sixes, where only forms of transportation, not fast in anyway
Japanese typically maintain/revive model/brand names based on similar platform.
Domestics typically maintain/revive model/brand names based on similar market segment.
Agreed?
As I said earlier the US automakes bring back a nameplate primarily to restore nostalgia of a guy who had that muscle car in his youth and now needs a more family oriented vehicle.
lol i didn’t say the base cars were fast in anyway. YOUR the one who brought up the base cars, remember?
lol any rear seats in a japanese sports car are just “seats” by look only. if anything its just for insurance reasons, they aren’t usable!
2+2s have been around since 1974.
Another point about the 2+2s, they out sold the turbo version of the car every time.
