Anyhow, it looks like I get to have the pleasure of having the only post in this thread relavent to the original post.

Even though the caskets and the inscriptions were unveiled at a conference, several Biblical experts and anthropologists are still not convinced of their authenticity because names including Mariam, Joseph and Jesus were very common during that period.

“These were very, very common names, so we see these names which occur again and again in the archaeological record. What they have done here, is they have simply tried, in a very, very I think dishonest way, to try to go and con the public into believing that this is the tomb of Jesus or Jesus’ family. It has nothing whatsoever to do with Jesus,” says Biblical anthropologist, Prof Joe Zias.

Religious nuts and skeptics alike agree that the claims that they found Jesus’s tomb are BS. It’s a publicity stunt based on huge assumptions. They found a tomb with “Jesus” inscribed on it and ignore the fact that “Jesus” of 2000 years ago is like the name “Joe” today. Doesn’t mean shit. But whatever, google it yourself if you’re interested in a factual study. If you’re not I could post all the facts in the world and you’ll decide based on what you want to believe.
