Joe Biden

It’s not a slippery slope. McCain is 72 and you have to be realistic about someone that age. And surely the McCain’s longevity is not improved by his history of four malignant melanomas. Dementia can be argued but I digress. You can say that he has his mothers gene who is in her 90’s now, but then again you can say that he has his fathers genes who died @ 70. In the end the next person in line is Palin, that is if the Reps win the presidency. You can continue rants about who is next in line, like we wouldn’t know, but how many speakers of the house have become Commanders in Chief due to death of the Pres and VP?

And the VP is so un-important that our current one has had no say in anything that happened in the country for the last 8 years? He’s the friggen puppetmaster for the nation’s stra-tee-gery.

Bottom line for me is that I’m republican. Not conservative, but Republican. For the presidential race, I’m going democrat. For anything else on this year’s election (in fact who even knows what else is on the '08 election and who’s running… that’s when it gets sad that no one really knows), I vote for the person, not for the party.

I liked McCain. I would’ve voted for him with a different running mate. I like him the last election. This one it seems he has changed a lot of his ideals to better fit the Republican view. Fuck that. Man up and stand for what you did the last time around, get a different running mate, and he’d get my vote.

I’m conservative, not Republican. I WAS a democrat for almost 25 years. I don’t like McCain. I don’t like Obama. The fact that either one of these clowns is going to win is pretty depressing, and petty shameful. This is the best we can do?
I still am not sure who will get my vote, but i can’t imagine that i could vote for Obama. His numbers just do not add up.

Interested to know what you mean…

I’d like to know what you mean as well. Anything can be spun. If we’re leaning one way we’ll always believe the truth to be the spin that favors our own candidate. Both sling shit. It’s best to just believe all of it and see what’s left, lol.
I liked MCain last time around. I think he’s puckered up his ass and is someone’s puppet this time around, however. He had to conform to get the nomination. As such, I don’t think he’ll act on what is best for the country, but instead what’s best for republicans. Which, even being a republican, doesn’t sit well with me.

Maybe go for the “throw-away” vote and vote third party if for no other reason than to show dissatisfaction with the two party system. :dunno: I’m kind of torn with what to do.

I’m with you man, it’s not a throw-away, it’s purposely showing dissatisfaction with the 2-party charade. If enough of us did that, the winner might have less than 40% of the popular vote. If all of us that lean 3rd party did it, the winner might get only 25% of the popular vote. That would send a definite message, but Americans are far more likely to watch too much TV and pick one of the circus acts they see on there.

And as for Obama’s numbers? I’ve posted his voting positions before, he’s an elite, anti-gun, socialist.

Her stand on evolution is scary Showtime? What’s far scarier than that, is people who believe in evolution supporting bailouts and socialized medicine. If evolution is real, and it’s the reason why we’re where we are today, shouldn’t we let morons go bankrupt and let lazy/poor people die?

Wouldn’t that advance the human race as well as the earth?

Does that sound bad? Does it hurt someone’s feelings? Well you’re the evolutionist, you tell me how you rationalize those 2 views.

I love that idea in theory, however that’s not the type of evolution anyone is referring to, IMHO. In fact, that’s not really evolution, per say.

FQ, i really do not beleive will do as you say if he gets elected. Look at his entire senate record. He is telling conservatives what they want to hear so he can get in the white house. I guarantee he will forget most of it if he wins. Same with Obama. Go back and listen to the shit he said during the primaries…THAT is how he will govern. He is moving to the middle because that is his only chance of getting elected.
As to his numbers…there is no way that he can spend the amount of money he is proposing without massive tax increases, and i mean as far as $30K. The rich will not pay the increases he wants. They will crawl back into tax shelters.

lol…i have no comment…its not worth the argument. all i’m saying is that someone who wants Evolution removed form schools or only taught as a theory, inferior to the biblical truth should not be in the white house.

anyone who thinks dino’s existed only 6000 yrs ago & co-existed with man is retarded (time line due to biblical theory of god creating earth approx 6000 yrs ago ) …I guess that all the facts proving dinos were extinct about 65 million yrs ago are all false. :dunno:

we should ask her about pangea…she probably has no idea what it is.

All I’m saying is that someone who wants creation removed from schools or only taught as a theory, inferior to so called “modern science” should not be in the white house.

Oh snap that goes both ways!

its one thing to have a faith/religion but its another to try & remove one for the other cause that’s what you believe.

obama…“I think it’s a mistake to try to cloud the teachings of science with theories that frankly don’t hold up to scientific inquiry,”

strong religious people don’t like science…& a lot of people who study science & antho don’t like religion.

as of late she has been changing her tune, but i think it has a lot to to with her being thrusted in the spotlight & that topic being brought up & her not wanting to piss anyone off…lately she has had no comment.

I believe in Santa Claus. Because my mommy said he’s real. Never seen him, but too many believe for me not to.
I’d still love to see some dude and 12 of his friends walk around today claiming he’s the son of God.
I’m not saying I don’t believe in something… but the idea of how some interpret a book that’s been translated so many times…
I suggest reading “Misquoting Jesus” by Bart Ehrman. He is not some nutcake. He is chair of the Department of Religious Studies at UNC, and world-renowned biblical scholar.
It is great to believe, however it is not so great to discount fact-based science. The two can co-exist. For anyone in charge to rely on one or the other as the sole reason behind decisions (like GW) is wrong IMHO.

aother question… if you feel this way…then you think its fine to force a biblical story on students in a PUBLIC school, but they shouldn’t know the scientific facts behind the evolution theory.

SO whats the plan…we can teach evolution in science class m but teach creationism where? english?..its not science its a story…a belief.

a religious private school is different…i have no problem with doing both & they should teach both, but in public school its a totally different story.

a public school should not force a religion on a student…& a student should not alter a classroom by them having to cater to his religious belief/rules.

ex… my wife had a student who was muslim & the pork issue came up often…making things inconvenient (snacks/lunch, etc…)…thats BS.
i told he to take in some bacon for him many times.

its total BS & totally pisses me off…you don’t eat pig cause it “dirty” but you eat chicken…shut the fuck up you moron.

sorry…i’m getting angry just thinking about it…its its getting off topic.

I’m sorry, maybe I’m misunderstanding you, but you’re saying that evolution is scientific fact based on the “beliefs” of modern scientists who have no way to prove it’s existence other than some bones with no first hand account of this phenomenon. Yet it’s not ok to teach other beliefs? Gee if you take out the subject matter the sentences sound the same.

I’m not saying they should or should not be allowed to teach either, it’s up to every individual to accept what they think is true. I will say this, they teach the history of the Jewish faith, Buddhism, etc… in “Social studies” as part of history.

Decoding the Exodus was a good flick to watch on the History Channel.

I’m not arguing one side or the other, I’m saying if the country wants to tout free speech all the time why is it that people are so against learning something that was in the hearts of the men that founded this very country? Last time I checked the Pilgrims didn’t come here for scientific freedom.

Palin was so for teaching ‘creation science’ during her gubernatorial run, and when she was elected, never imposed anything about it, thank God (pun intended)

http://dwb.adn.com/news/politics/elections/story/8347904p-8243554c.html

No, it doesn’t.

We can witness evolution. Fruit flies.

By your logic, I’ve decided that rain is no longer precipitation of condensed water, but Zeus deciding that my car is dirty and should be rinsed clean.

She never claimed that she wanted to impose anything.

“Teach both. You know, don’t be afraid of information. Healthy debate is so important, and it’s so valuable in our schools. I am a proponent of teaching both.”

“She added that, if elected, she would not push the state Board of Education to add such creation-based alternatives to the state’s required curriculum.”

Doesn’t look like she ever intended to push for anything. She was merely expressing her belief that both should be taught, or at least not specifically excluded from being taught. Hell the quotes in that story do not even indicate that she said it should be taught as “science”, just that it should be taught.

Also do any of you have any sources for the dinosaur beliefs that you cite? The quick internet searches I’ve done pretty much said they originated from a liberal democrat blogger that is totally against Palin.

Try again?

Flies != humans.

why the fuck would you teach both in a public school?

learn facts and generally accepted theories at school.

learn fables that teach ethics at church.

problem solved.

Are you serious?

So, evolution works on flies, but man has remained the same since God dreamt him up, thousands of years ago?

What about the fact that man has adapted, in all regions of the globe, to the climate and available resources? Africans are black. Swedes are practically transparent. The Irish can live on nothing but alcohol and misplaced rage.
