laborer, i dont want to get into what i was making, but for most of the summer it was very close to double what the union guys were making, although i dont get benefits.

How can you blame the business man when he is doing EXACTLY what you are supposed to in business? Reduce spending and increase profit.
If you own a non-skilled labor type of job, lawn maintenance, some construction etc, and you have Joe Legal looking to make $25/hour, and Jose Illegal looking to make a 12 pack of Corona and a pizza to bring home for his wife and 18 kids, I am going to hire the Jose. Not only that but Jose will break his back for that 12 pack of Corona while Joe Legal bitches about how his back hurts and how he is going to go on " workmans compensation", for his pain.
I am not saying it is ok for illegals to be here. It isn’t. It taxes our economy to no end. HOWEVER, all I am saying, is don’t blame the business man for doing EXACTLY what he is supposed to do. Blame the govn’t for allowing illegals to take advantage of our tax-based systems…

It is against the law to hire illegal immigrants. That’s pretty much the end of that arguement. PLUS, when you pay someone under the table it further hurts legitimate workers and the country.

The unions. Non union companys are forced to pay prevailing wage to even out bidding for state jobs. Unfortunetly non union companys pay laborers prevailing rate to workers doing trade specific work. Just another loophole in the system.
