JT76 - 2010 - Trans am build

find me a fabricator and pay him, then do all my school work for me and we have a deal!

what is the purpose for going from the FAST Manifold to the LS6? Just the opportunity for money to put towards other parts? the fast mani didnt seem to make that much power over the LS6

Fast will net you ~20hp over an LS6 on a built car. It is also $1500.

well didnt studderin do a dyno comparison and it was only like 8hp over an ls6? i can find better ways to spend 1500, which is why i was wondering if he sold it to aquire other needed parts

but in studderin’s comparison the tb was port matched, prob makes a difference

Studderins car is a stock head stock cube engine.

Put a fast on a 400+ cubic inch engine with good heads and you’ll notice bigger gains. When a car needs to breathe it needs to breathe.

Also the FAST is a 2 piece manifold, and i guess can only handle so much boost.

As wahoo said, with the FAST manifold there is potential for issues with boost leaks. There are plenty of 8 sec Lsx cars running an Ls6 so no worries. Also, as Josh said, on a small cube motor its not really necessary to run one NA either, i trapped like 1-2 mph slower with an LS6 intake than with my fast (could owe to a difference in weather etc as well) No doubt the FAST breathes better up top, but not its necessary. I guess one of those if you have the cash and want to be baller things.

3 piece*

Thats what i was figuring lol

So is your car going to be the same as last year then?

yup! probably even slower!

eh, lol i don’t have much interest in them being $1,500.

just buy an ls6 john its all you need. I got mine for like $230 after shipping, you just have to hunt for deals!

will do!

That is pretty sweet. I didnt know that little section was removable. Sort of loses its stealth look though.

The FAST 90mm combo is definitely worth more than 8hp when tuned correctly over the LS6 intake.

It was also with a larger 85mm MAFF with no screen and ported. And smooth 4inch tubing from the lid (w/ ported fast92/92 setup). Over the bone stock maff , and bellow (un touched LS6/stock TB).

It was tuned good, 10.6s are not that bad on stock heads, no power adder?

I also put a ported fast 85/85 setup I made, on my car when I was making 330whp with free mods/lid/pulley. And gained 2 whp over the LS6/ported stock TB. same day back to back dyno test/tune

Did a-b-a test of ported LS3 manifold losing hp, over a stock one, but showing gains on a flow bench. SAM did the same thing with a LS1 intake back in the day. Intake manifolds are weird, there really no direct comparison to airflow/hp because of the way a engine “runs” with pulse flow/wave tuning. Same thing with cylinder heads.
