JT76 - 2010 - Trans am build

i don’t think jim wants to spend the money it would cost to have a shop build the kind of kit that i’m building for him. the only reason i’m building this is because over the past few years, jim is one of the few that has always given me a helping hand when i needed it, so i owe it to him. not to mention, some of the shops i wouldn’t use. others that qualify fit into that, “dont have money to give them” category. and a good quality build takes more than a week. take into account my 50hr+ weeks + on the road 2-3+ nights a week, plus my car is just a rolling chassis etc etc etc… i’m willing to help as much as i possibly can on this, but on the same token, jim’s going to want to drive his car as soon as the good weather hits. that probably wouldn’t happen if the car comes apart right now for this. so i think we’ll play it day by day for now

FYI, “kits” or “builds” of the same “caliber” of mine in the LS1 world done at reputable shops usually equate to $5-10k+ in labor alone. Of course, Jim’s setup won’t require quite as much fab as mine due to the fact the many of the components are smaller in physical size, but still… A lot of work goes into it, and these people are running businesses. Time is money, and people don’t work for free

nothing wrong with taking your time  Who cares. It’s your car Jim.

I probably have over 1000 hours in my car.

thats only 1.28 hours over 3.5 years each day… time to crank up the output, you silly goose.

Boo, jim you sound like me now. Bunch of parts laying around

Im curious… what else do i need for my build that i dont already have? Bunch o’ mandrel bends and feed + drain lines are all i need. :gotme:

This is probably some :snky: :snky: studderin type fggtry

I would keep foglights on mine however

I didn’t mean anything rude by it, it’s just that I have seen so many “projects” aborted that were never anything more than pictures of purchased parts, myself included (round 2 of my 240sx build)

Buying stuff is always the easiest part.

JT if you need any help at all I am down for turbo LS1 greatness once I finish up my build.

it’s going to happen

yeah i know, this honestly wouldn’t take THAT much time compared to other people’s builds, its just trying to find the time to do it as well as juggling other people’s projects in one shop with limited space and one lift.

thanks! yeah we shall see, i will probably get bored mid summer like last year and want to start working on it. As you know the most fun of the season is over by the 4th of july :frowning:

i agree

seems like it will be nice when you can turn up the boost

seen quite a few v8’s this weekend pushing 700hp on pump gas low boost with 47r’s

To do it right, take how long you think it’s going to take, multiply it by 10 and you probably still aren’t close.

:word:

well son i may have the whole place shortly. then you can use my spare area and build it there without any constraints.

 I will keep in mind buddy, thanks! we will talk when the time comes.

stop being a fggt

I’m building my car so I can keep up this year if don’t do it in punching you in your vagina lol
