Subject: NOPI NewYork, class question

Dear Bob,

I want to enter my car at my local NOPI/NDRA event. I have a question
about what class to be in?

My car is a 1998 Pontiac grandprix GTP (FWD V6 3.8L, with a eaton
M90 supercharger- factory). I think I would be in the Sportman Power
Street class. But I see in the rules for that class about
intercoolers: Air/air, no liquids. My car has a aftermarket water to
air IC. You really can’t run a air/air on a roots style supercharger.
And all the new Chevy cobalt SS, and Saturn redlines also have water to
air IC with a factory eaton supercharger. So what class do these cars
fit in? “Turbo street” is a big step up, and these cars only run 13’s
12’s

Thanks

Thanks for your interest in our upcoming events. The Power Street classis for normally aspirated six cylinder cars or four cylinder cars withone power adder, you are obviously a six with one power adder so youwould be in the Turbo Street Class. This is the toughest sportsman class and the biggest sportsman class, you could run there and in a bracket class also.

Feel free to give me a call.
