July 31-Aug 2- Land Speed Racing - Maine

Who’s In?

My cousin is going to try to make this event and I said that I would go and be a spectator provided he has his car put back together in time.

They are running here.

If you want to race…come to race but this is not NYIRP or Lancaster…they are strict as can be on tech and there is no grey area. If you are thinking about running, please let me know and I will get you the rules/regs for your class.

I would love to see Innovative and/or STM bring something fun to play with.

If there is some interest…I will coordinate some hotel/travel accomodations for anyone who is NOT listed in my sig.

Maybe enough interest will get OSyn out to cover the event

Really…noone is mildly interested in seeing how fast they can go?

:noballs:

Didn’t see the post until you bumped it.

I’d love to go, but wont have a clue if I can for another 3-4 months, min. Depends on 6 or 7 other commitments.

soo… its a runway… 13,000 ft runway…

meh i dont see anything screaming topspeed. when its more of a mile run

You think you need more than a mile to figure out how fast your topspeed is?

my car tops out at 176… and hits 102 in the quarter… the rest of the 3/4 of a mile will come quickly

I’ll stop up and say hi

Woah sweet. Hum…

I think you might be surprised…even if you cant hit 176…150-165 is faster than you can “safely” get on the highways.

I know from experience.

I am VERY interested, please pm me more details.

Count me out for safety reasons even if we find time to put my car together. If it goes together I’m sure we’ll run some drag passes for fun, but no top speed or mile runs.

I’d definitely be in. I’ve got a gtech on the way and I’ve never gone more than a 140 in my car (gps confirmed). 13,000ft ie almost 3 miles is a craaaazzzzyyyy long strip tho :open_mouth:

I will let everyone know as the date approaches…Mark it on your calenders…the event is planned…I am only going to go if my cousin has his car together but he’s an idiot and just got married over the weekend so he now needs permission lol.

He is 90% sure he will go so I am just rounding up some interest.

You do realize this isnt just a run and gun show up and rock out type event right? They are running ECTA rules, which means you need things like fire suppression, cage, chute, etc.

Thanks Mike…I can NOT stress this enough.

Come prepared to play by the rules or to watch everyone else have fun.

THEY DO NOT OVERLOOK ANYTHING SO YOU CAN GO HAVE FUN.

You need to be legit and have everything in place, functioning and if needed be able to explain exactly what you have done to your car.

I said it in my first post but I will reiterate it several times before the actual event takes place.

Oh I don’t know anything about chutes. More regulation details? I guess I was assuming it’s like spec miata rules; fire suppression engine bay + cabin, minimum 4 pt cage, etc?

Rule books are 10 bucks, but maybe someone put some of the basic rules online?

the bike tops out at 167 gps’d verified in under 18 seconds, (thanks mike ) theres no point in going to this for me. Cool none the less.

:OAbout the same top speed as my car, I sure as hell wish it got there in under 20 sec!
