Just bought a '65 Jag E type

The roadsters are so nice. I wish this was one of those but the price on this(with all the extra parts) was too good to pass up for the condition of the car in original matching numbers. Your dad going to bring that to the museum for a bit when finished? I’ve been too lazy lately to go up there during the events to see some of the nice restos in the area that show up. Actually really lazy because Ave of the Pines is ~ 3 minutes from my backyard :lol

Some dings and dents in thei body and a little rust in the rear quarters but overall very straight and clean, but as you know with a resto it’s what you don’t see that gets ya. I’ll take more snapshots of it later today. The guy threw in a set of brand new DCOE Weber side drafts and intake manifold as well. There’s 6-7 boxes of misc parts too so I’ll have to see what other tid bits this guy had here.

few other shots from earlier today before moving off to storage

Found some docs in the parts today. Speedo is verified sealed from 2002 when the car arrived here from Europe. Original 13045 miles :clap

yum is right.

Man, the interior looks like in pretty good shape!

^ Yeah, I like the toggle switches on the dash. I almost picked up a Datsun 1300 that had a similar interior.

looks DAMN clean!!! great pick up

Yes, that was one of the selling points. The guy had started to have the entire interior re-upholstered(leather), newer dash, gauges rebuilt, etc, etc. Wheel is brand new as well(original in a box in the car). Most of the carpet/headliner still needs to be repaired or replaced.

It’s going to need about 10-15K in bodywork and paint, but all the OEM replacement body panels and pieces are included in a box as well. Everything is sound on the car, aside from a 3-4" rust slit on both rear quarters just outside the wheel well. easy repair work by most resto standards. Biggest expense outside paint will easily be the trim/bumper/wheel rechroming.

Previous owner also had/included a kit to do a Willwood dynalite four pot caliper upgrade on the front and move the OE front calipers to the rear. OE brakes on these cars sucked.

Which one is the “badass” switch, because it must surely be turned on :wow

thing is sick dude
