K20 powered EG vs EVO running 22psi

Yah im looking for a Eg to do that to SOON!

NICE…but expensive swap…

cost effectivness i’d do a boosted h22 EG or boosted b18 EG over the K20 swap.

i think a typeR (B18C5 whatever) is even a cheaper swap then the K20

k20 swaps in older civics can eat my ass…

i’d still rather have the Evo

just for that fact tho k20 are rare right now. But you are totattly right

ehhhhh its a toss up/personal preference

i got nothing against the evo but …but i think i’d rather have something i made fast then something that is fast of of the box.

its a lot more work to get a fast civc then a fast evo…

plus its a lot harder to have a sleeper/stealth evo

eg, LS Swap, t3/t4 22 psi, Stock internals
high 11’s low 12’s
and you still havent spent half the price for a evo

that what i ment…

civic are cheaper but more work…it harder to do a full swap with or without turbo than it is to do a chip upgrade or a turbo upgrade on an evo

thats easy stuff right there, internals is the hard part
figure everything is a bolt on. Even the engine.
Like my boy says in IRAQ
“Dude hondas, are fucking LEGO cars”

yeah its easy to some…and easier then swaps on other cars, but like I said…doing a full blow swap (+/-) a turbo is a lot more work & time consuming then a chip or turbo upgrade on a evo.

to me i’d rather have put the work in and made something…but some would rather just buy a evo, sti, SRT4 etc…and do a chip upgrade or other minor mods and be happy.

its personal preference.

be good to know people like brian that buy pretty broken up rsxs like the one I saw at JJs.

I think he wanted like 4500 for it. thats the cheapest k20 swap around

I understand were your coming from, but if someone wants to go fast it doesnt take that much money. Id say 7 stacks for a full blown race civic “IF you know the right people”. Thats including buying the car and all.

i’m not talking money…i’m talking time & work

2 days? K20 maybe more due to wiring issues. But for a LS and a turbo two days MOST. You could throw in tuning with them 2 days also

not for your normal weekend mechanic…2 day in a full blown shop with good equipment.

and compare it to the time it take to put a chip in an evo, str4 etc…whats that 10mins?

i wired up my buddies SAFC2 in his evo in about 5 mins, put the bushcar tuned specs in it and it probably dropped the car in to the 12 with the rest of the things we put on at the shoot out last year that only took about an hr

what top end is that k20? my rice rocket has the k20a3 and I think the acuras use the a2. I dont know hardly shit and just wondering. I know the difference has alot to do with the iVTEC shit mine has.

what planet are you from…as you can see from the vid there isn’t an exhaust on the hatch for one reason, they don’t make any which means you have to make it. next issue is mounts, tranny, wiring…there is a lot more than 2 days into a swap of that magnitude

Gawd, what a waist of time and money. I hate that swap so much i’d buy up all the k20’s i could and sink them to the bottom of the ocean.

yes, its something new and different in the import honda world, but how its becoming the swap of all swaps makes me stiffer than a witch’s nips. Its the same hp as an h22, puts the weight even farther forward to make even worse weight splits than an h22 and requires twice the work as an h22 at twice the cost!!!

buy a stock t3 turbo, an HF manifold, an fmu, gsr/h22 injectors, some homemade pipes and you’ll make the power the shit k20’s make.
