Haha I dont know why im picking a fight today, bad mood i guess…no harm done?
just a little :catfight … we all have fast cars, some faster than others, some come fast stock :hug :lol
WTF?! I have no idea how street racing, weight, drivetrain, driver ability even came up in this thread. All I was talking about was the srt engine vs the almighty K20 that K20-power adores so much (HAHA!). srt makes better numbers. The facts are facts. It shouldn’t even be a discussion.
yes, thank you the ALMIGHTY K20…we know it is very mighty in a civic…specially versus srt-4’s and evos :wow , oops starting more trouble on here :nono

:tong :mwahaha :banana
wow a k20 swapped civic with naws beats stock to mildly modded evos from a roll… congrats, not much to brag about there.
oh really?, they’re all motor MILD mods(I/H/E) & tuned, reading the mod list helps…why’s everyone assume they have nitrous when they beat cars like that. Get over it, it ate those evos :mwahaha
the one evo was 330whp, not mildly modded
and if we could post streetfire vids on here, theres a few more of evos, srt-4’s and STi’s from a dig :wow :nod
I/H/E + tuned evos?? header? what retard in a near stock evo is getting a header as one of the first mods?
intake actually doesn’t do shit for the evos except make the diverter valve louder (some say it actually hurts performace), 95% of all after market headers do not flow as well as stock, so scratch that. Exhaust and tune does help though, but we are not talking huge number here, maybe 20whp (if that!)… so yeah… that is definitely mildly modded evos.
sorry, but your low 13 second car is not gonna go around slapping around modded evos from a dig. The driver maybe half-retarded, but the car is faster.
WHP figures are all relative. One dyno could read 50whp+ when compared to others. It’s trap and ET that matters.
you’re car is awesome and is definitely quick, but you’re claims take away from your credibility.
oh and before I get too off topic… srt4 engine puts out better numbers than a K20. thank you and have a good day
The I\h\e was on the civic not the evo and ill put up a video of an 06 sti from a dig soon which is more HP than an evo. SRT4 is a gay car k20 swaps are better and faster end of conversation.:bore
I think were missing the big point here. Instead of comparing the two engines for what they put out stock you have to look at it like this. Sure the K20 is a good motor. But its N/A. The SRT-4 engine is turbo making it much much easier and cheaper to make it faster than a NA K20. Lets say the SRT engine is hooked up with a boost controller and supporting mods, you can add an average of 10HP per lb. of boost increased. So for a $300 mod (boost controller) you can make the SRT engine superior to the K20 by the push of a button.
I mentioned mildly modded evos… why would you bring up mods to your civic? :confused
you have this kick on hp number and think they directly relate to quickness. evo 8s are faster than the more powerful sti’s (of the same era, not too sure about the 2006+ models) cause of it’s gearing and it has one less shift 5spd vs 6spd. More power does not mean faster.
srt4 swapped civic would be faster than a k20 swapped civic… done! next!
doesn’t matter… it comes stock with a turbo and the k20 doesn’t. stock vs stock!!
Your car is only as fast as it is geared. Honda’s are notorious for short gearing. You have to be a little more specific in “faster” 0-60? 1/4? to top speed? Of a role?
Boost power is also needed to be taken into equation VS NA power.
So far the Srt4 does appear to be a more powerful motor all around.
I think a fair comparison would be an NA srt4 motor vs NA k20, or turbo K20 VS turbo Srt4.
Stock for stock SRT4 is faster.
Potential Wise K20 is better.
Fully build turbo VS fully build turbo… money in the bank decides the winner.
absolutely not. Srt4 is turbo stock, you can’t take that off just cause another stock engine doesn’t have it. It’s part of it.
I’d pick the K20 if I had a two money trees in my back yard.
It would make it a fair comparison of the motors R&D and design, but not factory power output.
Factory SRT4 definatly makes more power, case and point. But then again, most sport tuned factory turbo motors will make more power then an NA 4 cyl… which is why its not a fair comparison as stated above. To make it power they would both have to be either NA or FI. There afe very few factory tuned 4 cyl’s that would make the power of a K20, which is why Dodge had to go FI because it is a cheaper and easier way to make more power, which they accomplished, but does that mean the motor is better? It makes more power … yes… better … no.
Turbo is not a solve all solution, with it come drawbacks like power band and lag, otherwise all the cars on the road would be turbo.
who is arguing what is better? This simply started as a stock srt4 vs k20 engine discussion based on power output solely. It’s become a talk about gearing and weight and who is the best street racer and all this other bullshit.
all this technicality bullshit is just that, bullshit. Saying you cannot compare the two engines cause one if NA and the other is FI, HA!. So we should not compare the STi and the Evo anymore cause the STi has an extra .5 liters and it’s a boxer setup? No!
I’ve stated this many times and I will do it again. stock srt4 puts out more power than any stock K20 (you can NOT argue that… it’s a fact!), but if I had to choose between the two, I would go k20… cause I think the potential maybe higher.
Oh I fully agree, and you have won that argument a long time ago. The point about better wasn’t your rebuttal I was just simply throwing it out there.
Yeah I don’t even know how an offtopic thread went even more offtopic and then did it again in battle field :lol
in conclusion… dodge > honda :nod
