Touche!
Really fucking slow given it weighs 400LBS+ more and has 8:1CR instead of 10:1CR in the 3/S DOHC that already runs a blazing MID 15 @ 90-92. I’d guess MID 16 but I didn’t bother doing the “math”.
218-222 based on the year. Friggin emissions.
3/S DOHC 218-222 M5 = MID/LOW 15s @ 90-92 but top end of nearly 150MPH. Not too bad for 1991 technology.
probably not because the motor from your car probably adds a fuck load of weight and is only 320hp stock :nana :thumb
:motherland
The motor in his car HAS went 9 seconds stock.
:banana
yeah and a stock srt-4 has gone 8’s :
I was referring to the stock block and I am not lying. It went 9s @ 150+
No really, he means it. Those block strength wise are insance, and are right up there with the RB26DET’s and just below the infamous 2JZ, which has been known to make 1000hp stock block.
one guy on bimmerforums got 77Xwhp out of a stock longblock M52
no lie.
just a .140" mls hg and arp studs.
People can make a lot of power on a stock block… it just depends how long it will last.
Synapce has dyno’d stock B16 (1.6L) for nearly 400whp… which is pretty amazing… but it only lasts a few months. 3000GT blocks 2JZ’s and RB26DET’s have proven to do it for very long period of time…reliably.
Stock HG/HB/RODS/CRANK/PISTONS/etc… The motor wasn’t opened. Whatever came off the factory line.
There is a difference between a single run vs a few years+. I am not pointing at Synapse, BMW, or anything. Just a general statement.
Thats exactly what I was implying Shawn… we are on the same page here
sorry i thought you meant the car stock and jokingly
:stfu those arent K20’s nor will you find a k20 vs a vr-4 because there are no videos online of a race like that, a K20 all motor built or stock with nitrous will shit on a turboed honda
and now you guys are getting into built up, or upgraded turbos, or just on the stock block, this started out as talking about stock motor for motor swapped into another car or something…as i stated earlier in the thread there are tons of K20’s with either all motor built or completely stock motor with direct port nitrous and the programming needed to hold the spray running low 10’s, this is out of a 2.0 liter, not the K24, 2.0 4 cylinder completely stock with nitrous doing this :nana
relax everyone, i didn’t understand that he meant stock block, thats different, thats not his car “STOCK”
Yes, I know. I was agreeing.
Yea, 240-250AWHP and 3,750LBS isn’t 9’s capable.

I think we all should end this topic and agree that with enough money you can make a 3 cyl geo metro hit 9’s and any stock motor info/reliability goes out of the window when you build because everything gets changed and OEM components no longer play a role.
As far OEM motor potential in stock form… well thats very hard to quantify, which is exactly why this whole thread exists.
Do any of the cars above have doors? I think my chassis weighs more…
