HI guys and girls, this is my KA-t engine build. Got my parts back from our balancing shop and off to our engine builder, we got there and the 2JZ parts we drop off on Monday was already installed and ready for pick up!!! lol. I also have pix of the built RB26 that our builder did too.
The install of the 2JZ. I was suprise how the engine sit nicely in the engine bay, there was enough room around the engine. We put the engine from the bottom.
You are SO taking me for a ride after you install it lol. Good luck man, that looks wicked! Expect to see me after exam week is done for the engine fixing shit we talked about
Great looking motor man i dare to see an sr20det take this down at the track.i heard you got more stuff done to it compared to what i did on my old ka-t and people who know me can testify to the FACT that NO SR in the GTA, NONE was able to keep up. anyway continue the legend the saga continues… good luck
Yup I can vouch for DA 1’s KA-T. NO SR20 POS could keep up to his car. I watched him sit side by side with an R1 on the hwy.
Im surprised people keep dumping away their $$ on those crappy SR20 motors.
The way I see it KA-T or 2JZ, but all the SR20 boys I know are scared of boost and run like 8-15psi and think their car is fast.
SR20=low power, good drifting.
Mista Draggone congrats on the build, make sure you change your signature to say VRP67.
We are not lieing I was in the passanger seat and the rider of the R1 is my other friend. This was 2years ago. This was before the team came together, BUT KNOW WE TAKE IT TO THE TRACK!!! NO!! TO STREET RACING!!!
it did happen cause the man still cant believe a car would ever keep up let alone stay right beside him!! dont hate cause you can’t do the same!! We did the street thing, and now we older and smarter and have more to lose!! Bring it to the track and run it
Lets go with your 2 year time frame and assume that the R1 was about a 2006. It has 180HP, and weighs about 173kg.
Lets apply some numbers to a 240sx.
We can assume a weight of a 240sx to be about 1224kg. You added weight with the turbo system and possibly and body kit you may have put on for all that drag reduction you needed. So lets assume 1235kg.
The Power to weight ratio of the R1 is 1.04:1.
To get the same ratio from the 240sx, you’d need ~1285hp going to the ground.
That is assuming you get as much traction as the R1, and believe me, you won’t. 240s have enough problems with traction with 400hp.
No need to rag on the Sr20 guys…different strokes for different folks.
