My car was stored for about 3 months now, so the other day i decided to pull off the hotpipe so i could get the bov flange welded on to it. I put it on today, started the car and idle was fine. there was a little white smoke but nothing major, my car is just street tuned right now and was running slightly rich last year, so the white smoke im thinking is probably from having it sitting for so long. Anyways i go for a drive everything is fine, turbo kicks in, im getting full boost. Then all of a sudden the turbo stops kicking in, exhaust starts poping, smoke is blue and smells like fuel, then it turns white and starts creating clouds.
I checked the intercooler pipes everything is in place, nothing popped off. the boost gauge is showing 18-20 vacuum. There is no coolant or liquid in the hotpipe and i took off the rad cap while the car was running and there was no abnormal bubbles.
Any ideas what this could be, Im thinking headgasket or maybe even the turbo
UPDATE: theres no or almost none in/out shaft play, some minor side to side ( about the same when i bought it). However when i was taking off the intake i noticed oil on the manifold and on the side of the compressor housing. Im not sure where exactly it came from, im going to do a compression test tomorrow, and then ill take off the manifold and elbow to see where the oil came from. Hoping its just some oil seals or something in the turbo
I cant believe how it just happened like in a split second.
I just checked the compression, its 180 across all 4 cylinders. That oil that was on the manifold between cylinder three and four was actually fuel (smelt it today). And the spark is fine in all four cylinders. Now what im thinking is that its a messed up valve or a leaky injector. What do you guys think.
