Can anyone (with KA-T experience) offer some insight with emissions? Any problems to watch out for? Turn down the boost? Increase octane before taking it in for testing?
As long as you have a clean tune, a reasonably new cat, and a working O2 sensor you should be fine.
Turning down the boost won’t do anything. They test it at idle and at 40 km/h cruising, both of which you should be in vacuum.
I run a SOHC KA-T, T3, S-AFC, 370’s, Sunoco 94, and I passed with no issues.
Also, remember to run the car moderatly hard for a good 20-30 minutes before the test to get the cat nice and hot. Try to get them to test it immediatly, as opposed to letting it sit in the lot for a bit.
