KA-T question

Just wondering if I want to do a KAT conversion, what do I need to do regarding the ECU or fuel management? I see a lot of turbo kits on the market only have things like manifold, turbo, intercooler, or every bigger injectors, but most of them don’t come with a management system. (Except the E-manage for the Greddy kit)

Will the car run with the stock ECU with the turbo conversion? Or what do you guys suggest?

Peter

you will be modifying the original ecu map , that’s Y they include the safc or emanage software .
Yes the car will run using the stock ecu but pigy back on a management system to accomodate bigger injectors or bigger maf .

Yeah…unless you want a low-boost, sub-250rwhp setup.

Most people use either a FMU (max 7-10 PSI) with stock injectors (and usually an upgraded fuel pump) or more commonly 370cc (SR) injectors and an S-AFC to control them.

But that’s if you’re looking for a low boost setup.

Check out www.ka-t.org/forums for alot of useful info regarding this.

I’ll give you some quick coles notes:

  • you need larger injectors
  • you need a way to control them
  • safc II is the most cost efficient way to do so
  • e-manage IMO is junk
  • JWT ECU’s are good and plug and play but arent cheap
  • Stand alone is the way to go but is very costly (unit, install and tuning)

e-manage>safc. i love my emanage.
