i have a 1998 nissan altima and today i got into it and i only had 1, 3 and 5th gear. 2nd and fourth and rev were un reachable. now when i pull the plastic away from the shifter. i can find second and fourth but there far down and and even still hard to find. when in first and i give it gas the shifter moves so much it looks like its in neutral
ima take a stab at this, your bushing ok?
I second Chris’ suggestion.
Shifter bushings. Unless you bottomed out your car, smashed the fuck outta the linkages 
slammed cars+shiftlinkages=Fuck My Life moments ripped i canteven count how many linkages off my old honda this way and it always did what your car is doing sirr ^^^ these guys r on the right track
