if you look at the exhaust port holes, they are not completely circular. my manifold pipes will be round (exactly like the jgs log style), and before i do anything i was wondering, because of the different shapes would it not be good to use that flange? or after welding would it not make a difference?

thanks in advance,
DMIS

After welding it will not make a difference if he does it right.

Weld your piped to that, port match it and be done with.

awesome thanks alot guys i was worried about it.

where do you plan to weld the bung on for the o2 sensor? I have a custom 4-1 manifold but i need to put that sensor on it.

if your gonna weld it remember to take your time and go slow and stop alot to allow cool down, because if you over heat the flange too much it will warp and then you’ll need to have it resurfaced, but since the flange isnt too thick you may not have alot of material to shave off.

so keep that in consideration.

Yeah, I agree, be careful with the weld… getting it milled afterwards is a bit of a bitch.

Get a scrap head and bolt the flange to it when you’re welding. If you want to be really fancy, you can make a jig. This will keep the flange from warping. But yeah, go slow and quench often.
