if you look at the exhaust port holes, they are not completely circular. my manifold pipes will be round (exactly like the jgs log style), and before i do anything i was wondering, because of the different shapes would it not be good to use that flange? or after welding would it not make a difference?
if your gonna weld it remember to take your time and go slow and stop alot to allow cool down, because if you over heat the flange too much it will warp and then you’ll need to have it resurfaced, but since the flange isnt too thick you may not have alot of material to shave off.
Get a scrap head and bolt the flange to it when you’re welding. If you want to be really fancy, you can make a jig. This will keep the flange from warping. But yeah, go slow and quench often.
